Omg~ another Kino wall! Why am I not surprised? OX
Are there even 50 Kino scans around? *surprised*
So simple, yet the beauty of this wall just touches me.
I love the soft colours and the simplicity of the vector work.
I love it. Very nice wall Tama!
Artist Comment
Four in my Kino no Tabi Frontispiece Illustration series.
It's been half a year since I've walled Kino. I haven't forgotten it, I've just been exploring other
series and artists for a while. There's been a lot of buzz in the Kino community lately; the first
English-translated novel is due out in October, volume 10 in Japanese is due out the same day, and there is apparently a
new Kino movie in the works (details to come out the same day as the novel releases.) With that in mind I decided to
jumpstart my interest in Kino walling with this simple scenic wall that expresses one of the beauties of Kino's
world: its sheer size. Kino once mentions "I don't know if the world is beautiful or not, but it sure is
vast." Think of it as a change from the scenic walls where the character takes up 75% of the screen. There's a
lot more out there than just the character; this is especially true in Kino no Tabi where it is each country that gets
development and time to shine, not each person Kino or Shizu or Shishou meets. It's a bit of a different concept,
but it's one that makes Kino one of my favorite series.
The scan comes from the frontispiece of novel 9; I altered the way the road slowly reaches the horizon by making the
drop off much tighter, and removing the giant wall (that chapter is about a country Kino cannot enter because its wall
is so vast, that even after circling around it for half a day she cannot find the entrance and ultimately leaves without
visiting it.) And copied the sky from True Blue Sky, because I'm lazy like that, and I really, really like True
Blue Sky's sky.
This marks 50 Kino walls on DA! To put it in perspective, the first was made
5/30/2003. Find them all with more resolutions at DA! Desktop

The thumbnail looked rather depressing, but since it was in the elite gallery I thought I should check it out, and I feel like my curiosity was rewarded ^^ I love the whole concept. The vector is so smooth and simple, it really gives a nice feeling, and somehow the little figure riding the bicycle looks so cute ^^ Haha, now it makes me want to go on a journey too ^^ Thanks for sharing ^_^

I love the general style of the landscape. The earth and sky are both soft and inviting, yet at the same time jagged and (especially the path itself) dangerous. It looks awesome. Again, good use with colors; the sky isvery pretty and the ground is just beautiful. The best part of the wallpaper is Kino...just tiny little Kino off in the mid-distance. It's a really cool image. Oh, and those rocks rock.
