So here's my newest desktop which features ...fish and mermaid like creatures :pacman:

The scan is from Yoshitaka Amano and has been taken from Minitokyo (again a scan from DREAM's great gallery ^^).
What I liked about the scan was it's beautiful simplicity, and I tried to integrate this into my wallpaper. I traced the scan and added scale patterns, for the backround I added some algea and bubbels.
That's about all there is to say credit also goes to

Iroka for the scale textures and

hybrid-genesis.net for the beautiful patterns I downloaded there.

An amazing wallpaper! I like a lot its simplicity and the aggressive red colour, the concept is also very appealing, not to mention cute :). Though some may claim that the background lacks details, I don't think thay are necessary with that big a character. Overall some of my favourite Yoshitaka Amano's wallpaper, basicly due to its 'difference'.

Wow, that's very pretty. I love the choice of colors...striking, yet subdued...no crazy neons or blinding lens flares. The textures are gorgeous, they add a whole other level to the beauty of the wallpaper. The seaweed looks great, the bubbles are a nifty effect, and the color gradient of the water is excellent. The lady's dress, hair, and the fish all having the same color and fish-scale texture really pulls together the theme of the wallpaper. The "unfinished" white spots on the lady seem out of place when you just look at them, but taken as a part of the whole, it's a neat effect. I'm impressed.
