Named after one of my favorite Cowboy Bebop songs, actually... it was kind of appropriate for the effect I was going for with this one.

Wow, it's been a long time since I made a real wallpaper, huh? ^_^' Er, Disgaea one not counting. This one wasn't terribly difficult compared to a couple I've done before--well, not hard to make such that it looked good, anyway, thanks in large part to the quality of the scan. Scan is, of course, by DREAM (visit his gallery now!), but I got this scan from him through AIM (thanks, Bren, this version of the scan was a lot easier to work with than the other one) ... so I'm not sure where it is in the galleries ^_^'

Anyway, I think this wallpaper brings a whole new, rather necrophiliac light to the lyrics (which are on there, but too are a bit obscure... so I'll post 'em here, too), which is supposed to be a love song... but... maybe that's not such a bad thing?

If you care at all about the details, three or four hours, and there's only two layers in the final version, and I didn't bother to keep track of all the layers I actually used... kept merging them before they accumulated from necessity.

Been a fool, been a clown
Lost my way from up and down
And I know, yes I know
And I see it in your eyes
That you really weren't suprised at me at all
Not at all
And I know by your smile it's you.

Don't care for me, don't cry
Let's say goodbye, Adieu.
It's time to say goodbye, I know that in time
It will just fade away, it's time to say goodbye.

I stand alone, and watch you fade away like clouds
High up and in the sky
I'm strong and so cold
As I stand alone
Goodbye, So long, Adieu.

Oh how I love you so, lost in those memories
And now you've gone
I feel the pain, feeling like a fool, Adieu

My love for you burns deep
Inside me, so strong
Embers of times we had
And now here I stand lost in a memory
I see your face and smile.

Oh how I love you so, lost in those memories
And now you've gone
I feel the pain, feeling like a fool, Adieu

My love for you burns deep
Inside me, so strong
Embers of times we had
And now here I stand lost in a memory
I see your face and smile.

(If you want to do some digging, like I know DREAM and omni'll want to... go right ahead. :) )

Adieu

Oh another Yoshitaka Amano waller... Well I know the original scan... the effects that you used made some of the details disappear... I am not sure whether I would have ever dared to do that with an Amano art... I discovered recently that maybe I should take a break with making wallpapers of Yoshitaka Amano's drawing since I love his art so much that I feel scared to make too many changes. It always appears to me as if it is perfect as it is. So I am not too sure about the detailed hair that disappeared in your wallpaper... The mouth also looks a bit weird since one part of the left side of the lips isn't visible anymore.
I am also not sure about the lyrics you added to the wallpaper...
But nevertheless I admire how brave you were to do these changes... *lol* And it still creates a very strong effect! To that I know how difficult it is to make Amano wallpapers... so I will definitely add this wallpaper to my favorites. :)
