One in a series of Kino no Tabi wallpapers based on chapter illustrations from the novel. I chose this chapter,
"Nodoka na Kuni" (The Tranquil Country) for two reasons: Riku (my favorite character) and the fact that the
two seem to be resting in a modern rural Japanese village. This is a departure from the usual villages Kuroboshi
illustrates which are mostly inspired by Medieval European villages and buildings (see the Chances wallpaper for an
example). I colored the illustration (although kept in line with Kuroboshi's sometimes style of "all shadows are
black") with a very simple color scheme after tracing it (unfortunately, the image in the artbook is veeery small,
and bending my novel to scan a larger version would only mean having to reconstruct the center, making a trace the only
viable method). Since the chapter was titled "The Tranquil Country", "The Idle Life" seemed quite
appropriate.

Very nice wallie.. its so funny.. I like the title "the idle life" hehe... I think the character is
getting bored coz there is no people there.. hehe -
maybe it's just me, but the way his face is drawn, wouldn't his eye be sunk way into his head? ... or spread incredibly far apart? ... I don't know. :P

Its very simple, and as always the lines are impeccable. The sudden dark areas in the wallpaper remind me of inked drawings.

Being a person who likes simple things, this is definitely to my taste. Like the colours and love the vector work.
