whootness! first to post! anyways, looks nice, very simple but the simplicity is a good thing.
Artist Comment
One in a series of Kino no Tabi wallpapers based on chapter illustrations from the novel. I chose this chapter,
"Nodoka na Kuni" (The Tranquil Country) for two reasons: Riku (my favorite character) and the fact that the
two seem to be resting in a modern rural Japanese village. This is a departure from the usual villages Kuroboshi
illustrates which are mostly inspired by Medieval European villages and buildings (see the Chances wallpaper for an
example). I colored the illustration (although kept in line with Kuroboshi's sometimes style of "all shadows
are black") with a very simple color scheme after tracing it (unfortunately, the image in the artbook is veeery
small, and bending my novel to scan a larger version would only mean having to reconstruct the center, making a trace
the only viable method). Since the chapter was titled "The Tranquil Country", "The Idle Life" seemed
quite appropriate.

maybe it's just me, but the way his face is drawn, wouldn't his eye be sunk way into his head? ... or spread incredibly far apart? ... I don't know. :P

Its very simple, and as always the lines are impeccable. The sudden dark areas in the wallpaper remind me of inked drawings.

Being a person who likes simple things, this is definitely to my taste. Like the colours and love the vector work.
