Of all the character designs in Gankutsuou, Haydee is by far my most favorite. There's something about her elfin
beauty, her shimmering glamorous dresses, and her floral hair that makes me wish I could be her...without all that ugly
past. I've been wanting to make a wallpaper with Haydee playing her harp in a Greco-Roman rotunda for ages, and
finally found a good image from Gankutsuou Complete. Although I was disappointed at the small size of pictures in the
illustration gallery, that's when tracing really shows its potential. I had fun using a lot of images from the
official website to pattern Haydee, along with a few floral patterns of my own.
The background is a combination of stock and drawing; the ocean and sky, plus the birds, come from several stock photos, as well as the top of the columns. The rest of the rotunda and the
bush were drawn in Photoshop. Textures, well, I love texturing. Too much, probably. Oh well.

No idea why I didn't fav this wall earlier OX . Must agree that Haydee is the most beautifully designed character in an anime of beautiful designs, and I must say that you capture here beautifully. Especially love the hair. & the background is right out of the OP. XD

everything people have done so far with this show has been quite unique :) I think it does.. look calm but at the same time the sepia-ish tone of the background to me gives it a 'calm before the storm' kind of feel.. then again thats kinda also what i felt when i watched what ive seen of the show..

I hate to be a bother, but is the original scan posted anywhere online? I found this on another wallpaper site, and I've been looking around for the scan, but I can't seem to find it. I need it for a layout on a Haydée fansite. ^^;;; Is there anyway you could point me in the right direction?

oh goodness, i love it. i love the roman architecture, it adds a certain grace to her. it's very beautiful, and something very creative that i wouldn't often see. it's very original. i love the concept, and you did a great job. ^^

haydee is one of my favorite characters of Gankutsuou, and of the story of Montecristo. Her loyalty and true love for her saviour, even knowing of all his flaws and obsession with revenge are truly touching. And this wall manages to capture her personality in that. Sweet, moody, yet strong and supporting. Nice touch with the columns.

I love Gankutsuo, and your wallpaper speaks the anime's style verbatim. Haydee was also my favorite to watch. I loved her red kimono and the opera dress. Your wallpapers are beautiful. Any chance of one of Peppo? :)
