Leave it to me my love
for your beauty eludes even the darkests of hours
A woman who love you ...a face of a mother
Though away it no you my sweet
I would caress a thousand suns for you
Drench the whole sea with my own tears
For you are bio-divergent in my heart.

Dedicated to DREAM

When i saw this in his Virgin submissions in his gallery i loved it because it almost looks like my mother when she was young XD and this is also my imaginary setting to woman with long hair and fair beauty, this is an image illustrated by Yoshitaka Amano and this is the second wall i made so i love it all the same.... Nothing to ssay but this was one of my so called "crap" walls but for me its another precious lineage to my love for my dear mother.

So theres 34 layers and 3 hours of work....Hope you like!
More resolutions coming up in Imanimetions so hold your horses! XD

hmmm... hey... her hair's extraction needs more work... i can see some white and some rough polygon edges.... won't you give it some of your blur specialty? eh? ^^

Anyway, simple but nice wall... darn.. another fav then... XD

You know what, after reading DREAM's comment on one of my sister's wallpaper entries, and looking at this thing, I have to say I agree that it is indeed a pity that recognition of skill is so vastly skewed here in Minitokyo. I won't even go into my own wallpapers, but my sister's works with Amano scans are vastly superior to this one, yet the most favorites that she's ever gotten on a wallpaper period (which happened to be her first Amano desktop) was less than you've already gotten on this.

OracleAngel: I have no real problem with grunge, aside from the fact that it's overused to the point of being boring here on Minitokyo, and if it adds to the wallpaper, well that's great. There is nothing here that adds to anything. The background is absolutely awful with the scan, which it appears all you've done to is extract--though I can't really tell, seeing as how I'm not even familiar with this particular scan. The scan itself is mildly boring compared to the vast array of other Amano works there are to choose from--not to call Amano boring, but you've really gone out of your way to choose one that looks extremely plain. Furthermore, I wouldn't use that background against anything. It looks like you threw it together in ten or fifteen minutes, and just slapped the extracted scan on top. Certainly the extraction must have taken a while, but knowing Amano, I don't know why you would even bother to extract--the background of the orginal picture must have easily surpassed the rush job you did on this. I don't know how to say this nicely, so I won't: This sucks. And I'm betting you know that, what with the quality of wallpaper designs that you used to make. And you know, that really boggles me. Why are you even producing these types of wallpapers if you do indeed know that you can do infinitely better? Every time I design a desktop, I strive to make something better than I've ever done before. To learn something about my tools that I never knew before. To see into myself as I've never seen before. To say something, perhaps, that has never been said before. Your last... half dozen wallpapers, or so, have been painful; and this butchery of Amano is simply the last straw. Why would you even insult somebody by dedicating a rushjob that isn't even worth the little time that was spent on it by dedicating it to them? Especially one with as much respect for the artist whose art you've just callously destroyed as dream has for Amano? It disgusts me.

    Sincerely,
    -omni

    Wow Omni... harsh.

First, I like the backround, it works out. The fire orange you have is easy on the eyes, and I think blends pretty nicely with the scan. The scans extraction could use some more work, it seems rough in some areas, and really, I just don't like the scan. The butterfly looks sort of odd being all blurry and shiny, with this grunge approach for everything else. I woud've liked the font being raised up higher, and not being so in the corner, or just make the font smaller all together. One thing I love about this wallpaper is the abstract shapes you can notice on the top left of the wallpaper. Overall it is an alright wallpaper, but it could've been so much better.

Amano's art is beautiful. I'm glad you've made a wall out of her. Colours are strong, and the atmosphere is very nice.

  11. Electrastar Jun 08, 2005

It may surprise some people, but I'm not a huge fan of YA's work....but, I love this drawing for some reason. The colors are nice and warm and the image blends so well into the backround. Nothing clashes, it's a great wall OA.

  12. miraku-spike Jun 08, 2005

I really like the choice of scan - Yoshitaka Amano has drawn a lot of interesting characters which are not usually used for wallpapers simply because of their 'state' character. The background, well, I still haven't decided if I like it or not. Looks a bit plain, but on the other hand contrasts really well with the 'state' character of the scan.

  20. jaderabbit Jun 12, 2005

nice.... u've got better walls.... i think it's an ok wall oracle.. u just didn't put as much love into this one as u usually do on ur walls. though ur skills still out number mine >_< awesome job.

  21. Evanrued Jun 13, 2005

Sorry for the late post XD Lets see..I must say I do love the woman. She looks so perfect with the background, which brings out a lot of good points on the image of choice. Colors are superb, and the overall appearance is striking. Once again another excellent wall from you.

  22. GintheTwilightswords Jun 13, 2005

This is a very gorgeous wall Oracle ^uu^. The bg looks amazing, kinda like a blazing insigna, resonating the feelings and effort that went into creating this wall. The girl is beautiful too, it's incredible how you managed to find such a deep signifigance with the scan and associate it with the glamour your mother possessed when she was younger. Why do I get the feeling that there is more to this wall than what you have stated? Anyway, fantastic work Oracle :) .

  23. Skillzpay Jun 13, 2005

lol I wouldn't say it's one of your "crap" walls but it certainly isn't on par with a lot of your other work. The fiery and grungy background is easy to look at and is pulled off quite well. The art of the character is quite beautiful but the two don't seem to mesh all that well together. With a character that elegant it'd seem that a background that'd be more elegant would be more suitable for her.
Regardless though, you still did a pretty solid job with this one!

  24. MegaSaiyaMan316 Jun 25, 2005

    She is very beautiful indeed

The color surrounding her is very touching, i gives it a right feel...
    *nodding*

    Very excellant.
