Goodevening everybody (here actually it's evening :p)
This wall was born from my desire to escape from exams, from study for a bit...and to do something that can be "anti-stress".
Yesterday I changed my YT userpage's graphic with one more "colourful", so I decided to do a wallpaper using the same effect.
I started to search in MT's scans, and I found this :
ECHO: colours

It was love at first sight :3

So, I decided to vector it, and make some graphics effects, with brushes, pattern and some gradients...and this is the final result :D

Resources:
Program: Gimp 2.6 plus GIMP PAINT STUDIO
Brushes are from GIMP PAINT STUDIO package
Scan ( I Linked it before ù.ù)

COMMENTS are welcome! :D

EDIT: I've just added an alternative version, whit BLACK background and more brightness colours :)

EDIT 7/07/11: THANKS A LOT for beatiful comments, faves and ELITE :D

I think taking this bit of the scan and making it its own wall was a creative idea. :) You seem to have done a nice job on everything, however I do think the wall could look even better if the colors were more bold and less subdued. I think it might also help to make more contrast between the colors and the black background. Overall, though, nice job! :)

ooh very nice, cleverly done. :) Though yeah,, the colours could be stronger, brighter.

OMG Wow~ How did you make out such a beautiful wall out from that scan? Cool.
Love the brighter version. XD Thank you so much! +fav.

The use of colors and stained glass look is very nice. I think if you combined both versions together, it would balance out better. But the concept is simply awesome :)

The moment I saw this wall I thought----Oh! It's Kunie. :D Though i really love how you interpreted it. It just takes everything onto a whole new level. ^^v And, colorful it is. <3 <3 <3

This is freaking awesome. I love the colors, it's like a burst of rainbows! I like the darker version better since the colors pop up, there's likable contrast :3
Somehow it looks like those beautiful windows in churches. I love those.
It's a great interpretation of the scan, congrats.
I do think it would've been better if there was some spacing in between the big text and the "echo" one to be right in the middle right now is a bit too much the left. But that's just me being a neat freak.

    This one's absolutely pretty! :)

Though somehow I'm thinking you could have either omitted the text or simply put in another text... just a random thought.

As Tina18 mentioned, yes, it does remind me of churches as well; and don't get me wrong, I do think it gives this calming and exhilarating feeling at the same time! :D It's not everyday that one encounters such a well-made wallpaper that can make you feel such emotions.

So keep up the very good work! :)

Love the bright colors!I prefer the version with the black background because i think it brings out the colors better. :)

Either black or grayish both looks stunning. Though this version gave more impression to me prolly coz the greyish gave it a more surreal feel. It's gonna sit on my screen thats for sure.

And great job vectoring this out from the scan ;)

Love the way you used the scan (inspired o.o)
I like the this one more than the bright one :p
I starred at it for like 15 mins I guess (awesome work! >_<)
Thanks for your hard work and for sharing :)

One thing I've always enjoyed about those that work with Kunie's work is how beautiful they can make it. However, there was something about this wallpaper that just stood out for me from the first moment it was submitted, and that was it doesn't focus on a character but rather on the artwork that's featured in her hair, maybe that's why this has always been my favorite Kunie Kanbara wallpaper.

It's incredibly ambitious and some serious outside-the-box thinking on your part to take an aspect of the original scan and work with it in a way that one would of never guessed. As some have mentioned, I absolutely love how it's got that sort of stained glass effect, and more importantly how much it actually looks like stained glass instead of a cheap effect. It shows that a lot of thought and time when into that and just with how vibrant the colors are on that black background really gives that extra oomph to push it further. Seriously speaking I'm really glad you only worked with this part, because it stands out in such a way that it would of lost a lot had the rest of the scan been used. As it stands right now, it almost looks ethereal and that's why I adore what you did here. I seriously could talk all day about how heavenly it looks, despite the background being pure black.

So, normally I talk more in other areas, but with this wallpaper you kept it simple and added an interesting twist to it that's worth of all the attention it has gotten. I seriously cannot stress that enough that this wallpaper is a very strong entry and a great example of what a simple idea and a little creativity can bring you. Fantastic work, Raffa! :3
