background made myself and others thing i'm not gonna credit the scan uploader as it was not his scan
first i remembered that i downloaded some brushes from the internet but they were of no use also in the touhou gallery i
saw her wallpapers but they were not how i wanted so i thought to make it myself most of her wallpapers were there were
only three they all ware dark so i thought that she have a connection with the dark thing and i made it a little Gothic
style

If this is cropped, then nice cropping. However:
1. It is too dark (or at least my screen displays it as too dark). You don't have to use so much black in order to create a Gothic-style wall. Why not make the moon bigger and put more clouds, bats, or some stars there?
2. I don't know if you did it on purpose or not, but there are clouds over her legs and her right arm is too smudgy.
3. The clouds are too sharp but there are only smudged/blurred shadows on the character. Try to blend the BG and the character more by smudging/brurring the BG. -

Nice work with the background and adapting the lighting on the girl for a night scene! I like how the moon and clouds are "revealed" behind the girl, the left side is busy enough as-is with her face as the focus.
As far as the brightness goes, it's not too dark for me; must be the different monitor settings.I agree with Elisa on the sharpness, though; the scan is mostly soft-looking, so you might want to tone down the sharpening on the brushes or even apply a slight blur to them. For softer sharpening, try using Smart Sharpen instead of just Sharpen: you can control the degree of sharpening you apply to the image this way.
And yes, be careful about the brushes slipping away from the sky i.e. overlaid on her leg and arm.Overall, the atmosphere is great, keep it up :)

The wallpaper is way too dark and the signature I think is very catchy to the attention. I think, it will be better to make it smaller and find some ways to camouflage it, if you don't want them to remove it. Make a little deception with the signature. Something they'll not notice it easily.
On the other hand, I LOVE IT. It's well done and you really did a great job Scarlet. Indeed, a talented one so I really feel the need to give this a favorite.

Such a beautiful Wallpaper!
I love the darkness because it doesn't have too bright colors that makes my eyes tired!
And there's something mysteriously Wonderful about it that i can't describe with mere words.....
