fantasy version of gemini
from the zodiacness project i'm doing with my friends
haxelo and itemilicious
gemini needed to have animals like my previous drawings of capricorn and pisces (felt weird without one) so off i went to research~
and discovered the Feng Huang - "Dragon and Phoenix infants" (龍鳳胎) is an expression meaning a set of male and female fraternal twins. <-- more modern meaning
Fenghuang (Chinese: 鳳凰; pinyin: fènghuáng) are mythological birds of East Asia that reign over all other birds. The males are called Feng and the females Huang. In modern times, however, such a distinction of gender is often no longer made and the Feng and Huang are blurred into a single feminine entity so that the bird can be paired with the Chinese dragon, which has male connotations.
so thats why the dragon-phoenix became incorporated with the gemini twins of zodiacness (and boy was it hard to draw all that on A4 =.=')

I usually butcher my drawings when I try lining etc OTL I find only my pencil sketches look nice
