this is probably the one thing that took me the longest ever.
art-nouveau

vector of this poster
art by Alphonse Mucha, Art Nouveau period. It was originally a publicity for JOB cigarettes in the streets of Paris, in the 1900's
I altered it to make it fit a desktop canvas~

candy-chan is back with even more Art Nouveau for us to enjoy! The vector work is amazingly well done, and she managed to give it that lovely painted effect, as well. I don't have much to say but great job!

Proposed by Sheqel and highlighted by bromithia.

Mucha is definitely one of my favourite artists and Art Nouveau is my favourite art movement. Love the lyrical lines! Didn't think I would find traditional art here...but what a pleasant surprise.

This is awesome. Love the neat vectoring and the colors are really pleasant. Don't know much about Mucha, so I can't really say anything else OX

well since brom can't come up with anything better to say <.< i might as well elaborate with greater emphasis on commentary. ... hope that you don't mind u.u''

anyway, as always =o a new brilliant piece of work from our ever talented candy chan. gorgeous vector work, and i have to agree with you when i say artwork from mucha is certainly very unique and elegant. it is.. incredible how you managed to utilize each and every part of the original poster, but to also enhance and detail it so beautifully as well. we couldn't expect less from you o_o

your work on her complexion is absolutely superb. as you, yourself mentioned, the painting you did on her face was spectacular. gentle highlights and shading was executed perfectly. same goes for her skin on the other parts of her body as well. as i mentioned on irc, her hair looks gorgeous and despite what you said about the texturing, i will stick to what i originally thought and say i think it looks flawless just the way it is. you certainly did the original poster enough justice if not even more that shalln't be discreditted for.

the flow of the smoke from the cigarette, as i had previously mentioned, is abstract in its own way, but yes, the texturing you did for it is something that most definitely deserves its props, and the lines in it carry your eyes softly throughout the entire piece and emphasize the main focus [the woman, of course] even more. of course, that is not to say that the rest of the details in the background should be ignored. oh but of course, no ~ not in the least.

the artistical pattern in the background certainly was an original and creative addition by mucha. it's nice that you decided to incorporate it into your own remake as a desktop canvas. the border is inexplicably beautiful, too, in its own way and sets off a very delicate yet exquisite feature to the wall. the colour version that you have uploaded here is vivid and very ambrosial to the eye.

but ~ as i have also mentioned, i am partial to the sepia version of the wall. yes ~ if the red details such as in her hair and the cigarette ~ and if possible, the colour of the smoke as well, is kept. i think those would be rather nice as well as appealing additions against the sepia to the piece, too. but of course ~ that is simply my own personal opinion x.<

all in all, it is an awesome work that you did with the wall. as per always, candy :3 my apologies if my commentary always seem to be repetitive or the same as all the others i write =s but candy's works are all to praise, and i can only do so in the highest regard :3 and that is... the way i do ~ haha, in any case, ignore my rambling =x

anyway anyway, it's a favourite for me as always =] keep it up and pffffft, you still have fans :> even if it is just me, cy, and brom. we're still ppl n.n;; and enough of a reason to continue doing what you do so wonderfully <3

props and praise, princess candy n.n ~

This work has the similar art style as my poster in my room ^_^
    Love the vintage look.
The way u transformed it into a desktop wallpaper is just right.

Here we are blessed with a new wall from candeh.
It seems that her trips to otherworlds have inspired her to grace us with a new mucha wall.

Make no exception though, because this is one of her best. (Ed. note, all her walls are great, but she keeps improving so they are all her "best") She captures the style perfectly.

Cutting things short. This is something you should have on your desktop. Not many wallers can fuze traditional with modern techniques. If you arnt already watching out for candy, I think you should. Else you might miss out on something big.

I am having a wonderful flashback to another world where women were held in high regard. The woman in the original poster was a "gem" !
