I was absolutely sick of vectoring — especially since I have to get used to Illustrator again —, so I wanted to make something oldschool, using only renders, painting, blending and PRETTY LIGHTS. And since I recently finished FMA and am still kinda sorta very sore about the ending of the movie, I really really wanted to make a wall for it for some reason. This wall was a huge source of inspiration; huge pity that it's such a tiny resolution.

Interestingly enough, this wall made me want to go back to vectoring, lol.

The render comes from this scan and the (human transmutation) circle is actually from Brotherhood, along with screencaps used as inspiration for the light flares. Anything else is raster lighting effects and PRETTY LIGHTS, leading to the biggest PSD I've worked with in like...10 years, lol: 430 MB.

5k versions (5120x3200 and 5120x2880) available at Corner of Arts.

Very nice! I especially like the dramatic lighting on the characters, really makes the mood ????

Nicely done. I like the contrast with the blue and the dark background. Has a very FMA cover feel to it.

Amazing how you actually managed to change the atmosphere of the scan. All the lights and shadows you added to the brothers really create a dramatic atmosphere, even more emphasized by the "pretty alchemy lights". Nice work with the arcane circle as well, and thb, really interesting effect with the radiating light. I'm curious how you made that.

I'm kinda ashamed to admit I still haven't started watching the show. D:
