Apparently I was really digging the frosted look in the winter of 2015, which... was appropriate because, y'know, *winter.* I worked with a snowy background from freeimages.com and concentrated on a sort of crackling ice and stars look for the sky, while keeping the trees and snow soft and plasticy. I seem to recall going for more of a gold tone to bring in the color of Tomoyo's candle, but now that I look at it what I ended up with was more brown and dirty looking. Which, like, I'm not sure I mind from an aesthetic standpoint but it undermines the theme. So yeah, not pleased with that. Not pleased with Tomoyo's integration either. It's hard to make the flat art jibe with realistic settings and I think I blew it with this one. Some of the color unification worked, but I definitely needed to do more to make Tomoyo less papery or the background more papery. Bah.
