I've been working in this wallpaper during a long time, I passed countless hours detailing the vector.

The part that I liked the most to vector were the eyes.
The most difficult part were the hair and the fur.

I tried to look at some photos to copy some details in order to do the cherry blossoms and petals. I used the gradient mesh tool on it.

I'm proud of the fact that 97 percent of this wallpaper is vector made in Illustrator.
The other 3 percent are the clouds, assembling and color adjustments that I needed to use Photoshop.

An observation: Shaoran's fingers are passing through the teddy bear leg, it was like this in the original scan and I was afraid of try to do something and screw it.

I used 3 scans:

Card Captor Sakura#601849

The movie collection cover

Time-lapse gif (3,9mb)

Vector outline examples

I hope you like it, this is the hardest wallie that I've made. I'm glad to perceive the improvements that I reached after almost ten years of image editing, vectoring and walling.
Comments and suggestions are welcome.

This looks great ♥ It almost looks painted in the thumbnail

I love those eyes. You made them look very realistic on the inside. Hair is nice too...the fur, on Syaoran the right side, it is a bit "choppy" and the lighted parts on the hair...Not sure if that is off or not. It looks a bit weird to me. For the rest...the characters are wonderfully coloured. It is really cute. Great choice of scans!

You used the mesh too really good on the flower petals. They have the same depth as the eyes...perhaps a bit too much. I think you should have copy/pasted some flowers and put them more in the background aswell to get more of a "shower" effect and enhance the perception of depth in your wallpaper.

The background looks nice. The far back reminds me of one of my own wallpapers. The setup, that is. Mountains are fine, nothing bad about them. The tree bark is just as amazing as the eyes. the blossoms...are kind of...uhm...out of place because they don't have as much depth like the rest and seem much more flat. Perhaps you could use photoshop and mash some lighting with a brush to make it more like the rest? I know it is a lot of work if you do it like you did the rest, so I am suggesting it.

Usually Spring themes give off more of a summerish feel, but this one actually gives off more of a winterish feel, because of the pink clouds, very cloudy and still this gray feel from winter along with their outfits! It's hard to believe you did 97% of it in Illustrator. You did a great job, I truly love it ^^

Thank you! I loved make the eyes because I can put a enormous quantity of details and it's rather quick.

I think the fur really doesn't look perfect too. I used the symbol tool and as there were so many objects, I needed to rotate, diminish and realign them frenetically... so in the end I was not be able to get them too similiar.

I used a million brushes on the tree bark to get that effect.

Maybe when I vectored the flowers I got a little lazy and didn't put detail as I put in petals, I will try to edit the mesh to copy the details of the petals.

Someday I want to make a wallpaper 100% in Illustrator, but it's easy to assemble the objects and adjust the colors in Photoshop. I have to get used to do this in Illustrator as well.
