i decided to put the light soucre in the center.. i hope this is alright with the image... i wanted the shadows in the bg to show but also blend... if you've seen my first layers of eva i did earlier- i'd really like a comment if it still needs improvement... and does he look like a giraffe as i put it? ^_^' ...
overall i'm happy with this.. i had a really hard time with the most simple part- shinji's face.. i kept screwing up the colour mixtures (i have the perfect skin colour mixture downpat) but with watercolours it's all about layering and being quick about it.. i find them to be my favourite medium, other then just a sketch drawing- because my technique allows alot of malueable and manuevering of the medium once its on... washes are my friend ^_^' ..

i collaborated the two scans for the reference... note i did not in any form trace, copy or rip. References- no fake
art here 0_0 .. this is also pretty large... i scaled it down, it took 3 portions to blend together to get the image
since it didn't fit on my scanner... anyways... please comment... i worked forever on this for my bf for xmas...
will he like it? does it look like shinji? *ahhh*

ah bel-san, when you first posted your initial draw i wasn't sure what to expect. after seeing the final result you did a great job, the watercolors look great. :)

Before I even scrolled down to see your description, I looked at the image and said, "That was done with watercolors? omg!" That is such a tough medium and yet you did so well! Now I'll have to watch EVA so I know just who this dude is and why he's screaming. <g>

Wow Bel. This is just sheer amazing. (Especially considering it's painted, but i can't paint so what can i say?) Both characters have their true natures showing, Eva 01 as the savage beast and Shinji in one of his blood rages. Wow. I just absolutely love this, hence the +fav. Heh. Yeah. That's all i can really say. Is that i'm amazed. Good job bel-chan. *pets* ^_^

wow i like this alot. the background colours are all very nice and i especially like eva 01's shadow. it looks really sinister. and shinji's face is drawn very nicely, with alot of emotion and. there's almost a deluge of fear in his eyes.
this is really nice. your bf will surely like this.
