Ayu was taken from the Kanon 2006 animation ED, then eventually colored over with fill colors for basic shape, then painted over with a low opacity brush. Clouds were painted with a round brush, using slightly scattered settings to provide the base, then smoothed out and detailed with hard round on low-mid opacity. A motion-blurred reflection of the upper half of the image was overlayed and painted over to create the ice. Light dispersion would cause the reflection to be blurred and the brightness of the scenery would mean less of the reflection would appear as the reflection reflected more of the brighter sky. Snow was created with a customized round brush with scattering jitter, size jitter, and opacity jitter. Some flakes were individually blurred/partially erased to create more depth of field.
