Title is a Muse song because I'm unoriginal. XD Wow, it's been awhile since my last wallpaper; not counting MT Knockout, it's been over a year. And the first round of Knockout was in April…
I saw the scan only about 3 hours ago and completely fell in love with it, though to be honest I know absolutely nothing about the series. Also, I FINALLY GOT A TABLET! Which is awesome sauce and probably means I'll be walling more. Definitely drawing more. Most likely not anime, though. What I meant to say is that's totally the only reason this thing took only 2 hours and 30 minutes to make instead of like, 10.
But yeah, I've been stubborn for 7 years, painting only with a mouse or touchpad, but I finally hit the block where I feel like I simply can't improve anymore without spending long hours I don't have on a single painting… It's actually the main reason I've been so inactive the past year, because I was simply getting frustrated. Yeah, if you've been to my deviantart, you'll know that I've never stopped drawing, but I am so SICK and TIRED of just doing portraits all the time. Anything more complex kills, and I don't want to be stuck doing the same thing over and over. But yeah, I'm definitely happy I made this decision; already my paintings and sketches look more organic and less stiff, which I never really noticed in my old paintings beforehand. I'm excited.
ANYWAY…
So here's the scan: Bokura Ga Ita artbook
p.156-157
Didn't really do much except repaint and extend it. Really not much to say, process was very simple. Had 6 layers:
1. scan 2. repaint+extension 3. very minor lighting adjustment. 4. sig text 5. levels adjustment layer 6. painted over
anything I wanted to fix.
In Photoshop CS4 with a SHINY NEW WACOM BAMBOO!

Go go Bamboo! xD
I love what you did. The wall definitely has more depth than the scan.
You should add more color to your sig, for antiripping purpose.(like that is gonna stop em) d: -

It's been a while since I found a Bokura ga Ita wall worth using on my desktop :D
I'm really glad you worked on his facial expression because he looks really bored in the original and it has a lot more depth to it
The only thing I can even be nitpicky with is the sharp reflection, but it's not really a big deal
Great job~ Really has that feel of something painted on a canvas with oil
