My submission for 2010 New Years Resolution Challenge vector-wallers

1. To make a monochrome wall
2. To make a wall with multiple characters (I whent to town on that one XD)

T^T Monochrome is hard
I fail

This could have been submitted earlier but the deadline was extended and my laziness was like "Oi wtf are you doing? You can procrastinate for another ten days! :DDDDDD" lol
The title is mostly because doing this in monochrome nearly made me blind @___@ but also because I left all the characters without iris's and its a monochrome piece.
Yes I know being colour blind doesn't mean you don't see colours at all, only select ones
I've never used so many gradients, and at first I tried to figure out the magic behind gradient meshs in Illustrator
But OMFG its too hard for me >.> I was defeated
Everything besides gradients is vectored, I added noise to the screens in the BG to make it look like bad reception
Though if I get enough complaints about it I may link a clean version.

So all in all, it was an interesting experience though I don't think I'll be attempting anything monochrome for quite sometime
I'm not so happy with this but I spent so much time on it that I had to submit it to keep my sanity D:
Hope someone finds it usable ^^;

Made in CS3 PS
Layers: Aprox 230

vector-wallers celestial-luminesse

Ps. I haven't got a clue about this game, so if you're familiar with it you could add the tags for me :D <3

EDIT: Yay I got judges choice =] A big thankyou to everyone! <3

AHHH make the ridges of the screne much much darker, right now it just looks wayy too gray against those blue tones. other than that i love the concept. the vectoring is really sleek and yes i like the look of these tinted greys >D

    where are their eyes T_________T

  3. ala21ddin21 Jan 10, 2010

Like it! copy from AP :

I really enjoy this idea, original! Nice vectors, I love the colors and the fonts you used, but I have to say that the screens' outlines must be checked I think that it would be better if you make the white gradient on them more light and transparent... Keep up the good work^^

  4. Kurorisa Jan 10, 2010

    I love this :D
it really looks like tv screen or something like that.
I prefer darker but it still looks cool 8d

I love this and I love monochrome walls because they are alway so creative and hard to work with because you have to think about color gradients instead of colors with darkness and lights. I love the scans you vectored so creative with the tv screens and the added noise to look like bad reception so clever I love it. I also love the no irises in the eyes it makes them more mysterious and makes you pay attention to other details in the wall. I love this and your resolution is a good one and I think you did a great job on it and should do more..*smiles*.

i think this wall have cool design
though for some panel wall like this the lifeless eyes makes me wonder, it did make some creepy atmosphere and i ike that, but it doesn't look fit for this theme
    nonetheless nice monochrome wall

Wow... I like how your laziness thinks... I know nothing about the game either, but I love the artist's works [because of the Trauma Center Series].
The composition of this picture is really beautiful and the placement is very well thought out, I feel. I say the time you spent on it was worth it. It gives of a slight television-like feel as well.
I hope you continue making many more of such amazing pictures.
