Although she looks like Lain, she is not Lain. She was inspired by Lain, and may be her long-lost sister. I had fun with copic markers late one night, and drew her. The bg is an extremely edited photo of the dirtiest alley I could find. Oil spills, broken bottles, refuse from nearby restaurants...you name it, it probably was there. It's a wonder that she's not dirtier because of all of that...

Please enjoy. ^_^'

I like the water + reflection etc
    Shading is superb
rough lines but I guess that's the style of this wall
the girl is a big stiff-backed, not so relaxed... If I stayed at that position for even 2 minutes I could begin to have a backache haha ^_^'

Hi. I really like this creation (@fav), it's something different... I really like the paintlike photocpy rough style, it gives indeed a nice dreary look at the ensemble. Anyway, what I wouldn't have done was the lense effect in the middle of the wall... Maybe instead I would have created a slight, poor beam of sunlight sippling through the alley...
Anyway, it's a nice creation in a style I like.

hehe so many replies, so little time... Technically, the scan of the girl is unfinished at this moment, and it was my intention that she was resting her back against some sort of object. ^_^' So yes, her back may be in trouble, not to mention her pyjamas!

It is so difficult to portray the effect of light. It's boggled the artist for a millenium, ne? Since I aimed to have this piece seem like a photograph (lol, a blurry amateurish photograph), I felt justified in putting the flare in for additional perspective. Otherwise, the girl felt like she was floating on a black oil spill. The rays of light effect mentioned above seems more appropriate for a bright sunny day at the beach, or a forest, or a scene with muchos clouds, and less so for a dark alley. Thank you all for the comments! :D

Yay, Nooka! I'm glad to see that the shading worked out so well. I think you got it right! Although her one leg still looks a little funky, but that's okay :P. Good work!
