Okay, where to start...? XD I have a lot to explain. X-O
To start off, this wallpaper is for the Free Your Waller Contest hosted by
Free--Wallers and Celestial-Luminesse.
So the theme ended up being Euphoria...
At that time, a whole bunch of ideas came to my mind. But of course imagination can go a bit out of hand, so I had to
simplify it to where my skills in walling are. OX But I also wanted to try something new. And this is how this wallpaper
was created.
The main idea to this wallpaper is that euphoria is reached when you escape from your troubles, soothing your thoughts
and mind.

At first I just wanted someone listening to music. Why music? Well, music is art, art with words, style, rhythm, pretty
much like any other styles of art. Music calms you down when you're mad, crazy, sad. Music actually becomes your
best of friends at times. Music comes in so many different styles that you can't really favor just one style. Music
just takes all your hard feelings away, making you relax and get to the beat. This is where the title comes from. The
word, "escape" is represented throughout this whole wallpaper. I'm not sure if this happens to everybody but when I listen to music, it makes me feel happy, makes me feel there are
no more trouble to deal with, and especially no more homework. ^_^' Okay maybe not that. XD I made this whole
wallpaper with a purpose. At least most of it. The sleeping girl, the music, music notes/lines, the painting, even that
bottom mantle and colors represent something.
So since I explained the music part already, I'll start with the others. Dreams usually help me escape from things,
and that is exactly what the girl is doing. She's dreaming, escaping from the distress. The music lines/notes are
flowing, flowing slowly out. The song is Insa by Dong Bang Shin Gi, so if you have ever listened to the song you would know it's a
slow, beautiful song. So the music is flowing slowly, escaping from the stereo and spreading the beautiful, soft sound.
It's spreading the "love" out, spreading out the happiness. Some parts of the lyrics to the song
isn't quite relevant to the theme, but a while back, I had some deep problems and I kept on listening to this song
because it really calmed me down. You can see that the painting has the words, "Fly Away Love" and if you have
read the lyrics below, you can see that it's from the song, Insa. The scenery of the painting has a nice field with
a tree and a few birds. The birds are flying away. And often when you think about "flying away", it usually
means you want to get away. To get away from chaos to reach euphoria. Now to the colors. Well I used blue and green
throughout this wallpaper to represent happiness, calmness, and life. So overall, the colors help makes the wallpaper
have a soft, calm atmosphere. White stands for purity.
So at the end, to me euphoria is defined as happiness and purity reached by escaping the chaos.
Makings of the Wallpaper
Now it's finally the part on how I made this wallpaper. Yay! XD
Pretty much, before I began to make the wallie, I planned it all out. But of course, I ended up changing some things as
I went on with my wallie-making. Well, I started off with pretty much the background first. I added in the table, which
at first was purple. At the last moment, I decided to change it to a bluish-teal color in order to make it match my
purpose. Then I added in the music player. Okay, it's shaped as an onigiri... why? Haha, I don't really know,
but I just decided to make in an onigiri. An offline friend of mine calls me "Onigiri" for some odd reason, so
I just decided to make it that shape. But, hey onigiri makes everyone happy right? XD My sister had the music sheets on
the song Insa in the computer, so I decided to use the music lines you see streaming out of the music player. It took
awhile to warp it to the way I wanted so I hope you guys like that part. And then it came to the scary part. The girl. I
had to literally draw her out with a pen tool since I could not find a single scan that could match the way I wanted. It
took ages to do this. A few days, one or two weeks...? Not too sure, but I'm very pleased of the outcome. At that
time, I really wish I had a tablet. The laptop pad thing is so difficult to use when it comes to drawing. >_>
I'm not a good drawer, so I know she's a bit messed up, especially that hair of hers. I know that I
didn't add in too much detail in her, but that's how I wanted it for some odd reason...
Then I found a stock image from googling, and painted the painting. First time ever trying to paint. XD Added in the
birds with a brush and blurred it to fit in the painting. I did a lot of smudging to make the carpet. I used textures
and a pattern for the wallpaper of this wallie, a texture for the overall of this wallie, and a pattern for her dress.
Then I added in the shadows, which didn't take long. :) Thanks to my captain, PinkPrincessLacus, for advicing me to
add the wood mantle thing in the bottom. At first it was brown, but I decided to make it blue for the same reason I
changed the table color.

great symbolisms, and nice job painting, though it does look a bit out of place since everything else is vectored. Speaking of which, nice job on that (I like the textures), though I think you might want to outline her shirt with grey or something because everything else is outlined.

i like the nice idea and the theme is conveyed well :D i like the way you portrayed your concept and the colours are nicely chosen :) the stereo adds a nice touch and i like all those music notes that are coming out XD the textures look nice :D great wall ^^
I like the soft colours and all, textures are lovely.
But I think the hair could use some more work, and a bit of the shadows on the wall. The wall looks flat compared to the table she's putting her head on.
