I found this scan on endlessrain.org and really like it. This wallpaper took me 2-3 hours to make and was really hard since I did not know what bg to make. I wanted to make a forest scene because I thought it would match with the character best. For this wall I used Photoshop 7 and PS Elements 3. It turned out darker than I expected but I love this wall. Download it if you can there if so much more detail and it looks better too :)

the grass might look weird at his feet but thats only on the thumbnail, again please full view looks much better, trust me on this one :)

It is kind of dark, but hey, he's in a forest ^_^' It's a great scan, and he does meld well with the background. Maybe a lil too well since he's hard to see, but that goes back to being in a forest... Anyways, it still looks great. Keep up the good work! ^_^

Great job with the background! It's perfect for the character~ I love the atmosphere and the overall effect! :D

You know, when I first looked at this I thought, "Whoa...stock image with character overlay." BUT! even if it is a stock image you sure did tweak it to death - it looks lovely. :) I really like the background and the text is rockin'.
I'm going to have to agree with you on your cown onclusion about the grass at his feet though: it does look weird. I think some of it has to do with the density of the grass by his feet vs. the grass on the ground. I think if you thin it out - especially under the axe - it will feel like it goes with the background a lot better.
And I've got a suggestion, you might want to think about putting the character slightly off center instead of placing him dead center. It's a trick to catch people's eyes. For some reason it works, but I like the wall as is, too so no real problem there.
Very nice job! Keep it up! :pacman:

Great job! That green is so calm and peaceful. Like Elves said, the first thing I noticed is that the bg is mostly (and maybe all) made up by a stock photo. hm....Im guessing gaussian blur? Definitely not something I would recommend doing, but in your case, it looks awesome. You did a great job on that part. Gosh, Elves already said alot of what I was thinking...yea, try not to put the chara in the middle of the wall. Thats probably the first thing I learned in my art classes. It just makes people focus on the center of your wall, and doesnt let them observe the rest of it. Like, for example, I see that great patch of light over there on the right side. You could put him off center, but still get great focus on him because he would be standing in more light than the rest of the wall.

i like the ice foresty background and how everything is arranged :D i like how it seems peaceful due to the colour scheme :) he suits the background well and everything is composed nicely XD nice wall ^^

I think the scan matches really well with the BG U did^^
The color scheme is a lil dark which makes it kinda hard to see but well, I cant say it doesnt look good, the huge contrast makes it kinda nice there^^
And its pretty carefull of U to make some light on the ground since the light will go through the leaves...^^
    Good job! XD
    Keep it up^^
