I first discovered Chen Shu Fen when I was browsing the mt studio galleries and completely fell in love....so being able
finally to make a wall of a Chen Shu Fen scan is so exciting for me
I love so many CSF scans that I had trouble choosing one to start off with, but finally settled on this lovely scan from an artbook I
hadn't seen before.
I knew I wanted to go for a soft painted look with this scan...but it took me 3-4 tries before I decided on the
background I wanted. With the help of a few photos for realistic object details, I paintbrushed in the foreground and
background in Photoshop. The impressionist style, especially Monet, was my inspiration.
(And for some reason the letter...from an imaginary boyfriend?...really fit for me)
Technical details:
I started this almost exactly a week ago (even though I knew I was going to have a busy week of schoolwork -_-' ) and
kept sneaking in a few hours every so often to work on it. Today I was finally free (yea spring break) so I devoted
about 5 more hours to finishing up the background details and finishing touches.
There were about 36 layers after merging

Oh wow..this is very cool! I love the light texture and subtle details. It almost looks like oil pastels. Great job on redrawing the parts of the scan that were not showing too. You can't tell they weren't there by looking at it. Awesome wallie! ^_~

Beautiful job working the scan into the background :D I really like the soft subtle colors and the title is perfect. Amazing repainting of other objects o.o I think the floor (color) could be a little more defined to ground the flower pot better (and I just love how you painted that :D) but that's the only thing, I think this is your best to date, not including your Amano wall XD

cyd84-chan!
I was waiting for your wallpapers!Wow, this is so cute...mmm... she looks kinda alone and sad... what happened to her?
Anyway, nice colours, she has a nice hair, too. :) -
This is really awesome!
The bg is beautiful and I really love the soft colors. The scan itself is also wonderful and fits perfectly with the bg! Nicely done! -
You put everything together very nicely. I think, though, that the back feels a bit off. It's an interior scene, but there's no back wall or window to ground it. Perhaps that's just me. ^_^'
