I'm so glad this wallpaper turned out the way I liked it. It was tough to decide which anime to tie it up with (I had 3 choices) and I ended up choosing Samurai Champloo which had this funky-japanese-traditional theme going. Its was pretty easy to pull off with the BG.

I started with the usual, atmosphere/scenery setting. Then I divided in to 3 panels. The panel style I got from watching Honey and Clover, one of Hagu's works was divided in panels. The original BG is the middle part, then the sides are splashed in one color (which idea I got from this totally wicked wallpaper). The top middle part was hard to decide with. It just looked too plain without something. So I added that design just to make it more funky/girly-whatever. Added a few spatter for a semi-grungy (?) look.

I added Jin and Fuu's silhouettes as well. It won't be Samurai Champloo without them. ^__^

Love it XD The meshing of elements is so original (I see you even inserted some swords on the hill, a la the Champloo OP) & the colors so vivid.

That is a neat idea! I love the color variations between the panels, so vivid, and they work so well with each other. I do have a suggestion: Since you chose Samurai Champloo and there are three characters how about each getting their own panel. AND I like the silhouettes idea of Fuu and Jin, but they could be enlarged a little and asigned their own panel in the upper corners to offset the design in the middle top. What do you think? That is totally a suggestion because I like this version, but I thought that would be funky too.
Very clean lines in the background and viberent colors. The solid blacd design in the middle sort of doesnt' seem to belong without other designs in the other panels, but it fits if you critic that panel individually. Simple looking concept that turned out marvelous! Kudos!

I have to say that I like the other wallpaper with this image. I'm not sure why, but I just don't like the blocks of colour. It's still nice though. Thanks for sharing.

Samurai Champloo! This is a crazy awsome wallpaper. I love the panel style design you introduced in this wp, the one in the middle being my favorite with the funky/girly. What I really like is the addition of the Jin and Fuu silhouettes, it's perfect. I got an idea after looking at the characters... like making three diff. wp's by replacing one silhouette character with Mugen and making them visible. You know if someone prefers one over the other. Crazy idea i know. But a man can dream...
