...how many pieces of sky can you see?
I KNOW that crap and candy-chan both walled this scan. Leave me alone. *GRAR*
I guess this is my first scenic wall... not vectored, not in Asian style, and no flowers :) When I looked at the scan I got the idea for a surreal setting... kind of like what crap did :) I knew I wanted to extend the stairs, and the only way I could do that was to curve them T_T <-- pain. So I drew the outlines for the stairs in Illustrator and smudged-painted them + clouds on top to death in Photoshop. I really wanted to go for a Magritte-type look... he's one of my favorite Surrealist painters *_* Dunno if I succeeded or not... >_>
This wall is dedicated to the six W.A.R. judges (candy-chan, Furikuu, Keltosh, ShiNN, shinta, and tAtEkAnE), partner-in-crime #1 (Kel nii-san), partner/coder-in-crime #2 (rockiee), partner-in-crime #3 (sakii), and round 1 commentators (sakii, rockiee, tantiee, and me... XD) All of you are such talented and dedicated individuals... I'm really grateful for the chance to have gotten to know most of you better :)
I originally wanted to make more walls as presents but quickly realized that it was impossible, what with thesis and final projects deadlines coming up *dies* So... wanted to say this when I get the chance :P W.A.R. is coming to an end, but I hope that everyone who participated will stay inspired and active... :)
May the revolution flourish :)
P.S. I really rushed this wall because I need to settle down to work, despite it being Thanksgiving and all *_* So any suggestions on how to improve this would be greatly appreciated :)
P.P.S. Special thanks to crap for putting up with my constant pestering/whining throughout the creation process, shinn for trying to help me with perspective for the stairs (which I sadly botched T_T Sorry), and tates for spurring me on to heightened insomnia. Again.

haha i guess the shading kinda covered the thing i told u about xD
although the water part needs work, the err concrete should be darker underwater and her dress too, and
the cloud reflection looks a bit out of place there, from the perspective it should be just clear blue
anyway...aside from those this look nice :3

By the way, I dunno if it's a good idea or not but. did you try to add an "object" or two in the
background...
Like OracleAngel said, floating in the water, or a sphere... crystal ball... on the stairs... or metling down... dunno

and that door is a brilliant concept, but it's also a bit unnerving.
the reflection of the clouds in the water is quite lovely, but i feel that the sky seems a little empty.

the only thinkg i can see "wrong" is the reflection of the clouds in the water, and the sky above --- it doesnt match, lol
This has to be one of the most beautiful walls I've ever seen XD I love the minimalism and the surrealism; the atmosphere it creates is simply...perfect: tranquil and dreamy. It looks like a painting.

think it turned out great! the curves were fixed up enough and like how you made the reflection look a bit more painted like the scan. overall a nice and simple wall.
I really like the sense of openess in this wall. The stairs really remind me a Greek theater, very interesting. Anyways, awesome wall!

I am very late... I know... but stress, stress... what can I say?...
This wallpaper indeed looks a bit surreal cause of the door... I like this idea... but that's no surprise because I
am in love with surrealism in general... also with Renee Magritte's art... I even have a artbook with some of is
works... I don't think your wallpaper looks THAT surreal like what Renee very often did... *lol* Then the girl
wouldn't be dressed like this and sit there... nicely... ;) But... what definitely reminds me of Magritte are the
clouds...
So yes, it looks a bit weird that there are more clouds in the "water" than on the sky... Did you do this
intentionally? If this was the idea that I maybe would have been even extremer... and there would be no clouds at all in
the skay... cause now there are still some clouds in the sky... which make it empty but yet not empty enough... I hope
you understand what I mean?
But apart from that it is perfect... :) I really like this wallpaper and it looks different from your last two wallpapers...

I think your wallpaper's better than their's. Well okay, equal to candy-chan's. But your's is also awesome. Candy-chan's seems grounded in reality whereas your's has a very surreal to it. That little doorway in the back leading to night establishes that quite well
