EDIT
well well well. Updated to textless version, it's even more plain but keeps a clean look. I still kind of like the text, so I'm still offering you the original version:

Blah blah blah.
Blah blah blah blah? blah!

Yeah, so it's done. Began this wall in...6 months ago? But long story and. Finally.
The Title is from a Leonard Cohen song called Democracy. Since the Setting is ancient Greece and, well, you all know your history lessons..
thanks to #MT for killing me, without you all it wouldn't be as good XD

Its weird since the bg is greek but the intention is more on Chinese political movement but overall the simplcity and movement meets the eye. Great job as always... take your time girl, life aint such a competitive race! XD

I'm really glad that you decided to keep things as is with this wall. I honestly have to say the perspective of it all is really what sold me from the start. I also have to say that you did a simply outstanding job with this @_@. Just incredible and considering how much work you put into this, it truly shows.

The scan is something else. I do have to say that I've never seen that scan before and I dunno why I haven't because she is just beautiful. I love her pose as well and her facial expression. It really sets the mood behind the wallpaper and really is very fitting as well for the scenery. Quite a unique outfit she has as well. Excellant placement as well of the girl as well, if I do say so myself.

The theme, in my opinion, is just a perfect fitting theme for the girl. Not only the ancient Greece match her perfectly, but it's like she was made for that scenery and what really caught my eye was how you painted it. The painting..well, let's just say I've always been a fan of your painting. I have to say that your paintings have always just bedazzled me. I just love the look of the painting and just the style of it fits so very well with the girl. Simply breath-taking, to be honest and I'm really glad to see a perspective like this too. I can't say I've seen too many walls that really add such depth and perspective as this one does and I'm really glad to see one like this as well. Some may say the perspective is screwed up, but if you look at it and if you've actually seen buildings constructed like that, it's actually very easy to picture. I think the texture of the building and stairs really gives off that 'ancient Greek' look and that's what really fits so nicely with the girl. The shadowing has been done very nicely as well and so has the lighting. Something that has always impressed me is your skies *_*. Yet another outstanding sky background from Candy. Nice, light and fluffy and full of life and very fitting for the scenery. Overall, the final product is simply gorgeous. You honestly outdid yourself with this background. It's just beautiful. Even if it took you six months, I think it was very well invested time and I think that it really paid off as well because this wall truly bears the fruits of your labor. Every nook and cranny, even the steps that seem to go on endlessly, which isn't necessarly a bad thing XD.

Overall, I can't say too much about it that I've already said. I love the theme of the wall and everything just fits so perfectly together that I can't pass up fav'ing this wall. From top to bottom, this wall is just sheer beauty and I really like your choice of text as well. It's great to see more songs become intertwined with walls. =D Especially when they really fit, making this wall my favorite of the week. Once again, Candy, making such an amazing wallpaper *_*. My apologies as well if the comment seems sort of blah, I'm somewhat sleep deprived/out of it @_@.

simple, easy and nice. what more can I say. love it~ :D

  3. Devildude Nov 01, 2005

honestly i think this is weird wall, instead of anime, it sort of takes a rhyme at a political message which is uniwue in its own way, i like the girl sitting in front of capital hill thing, overall welldone, anc i can see your efforts in it all. so i like to congratulate that your hard work has caught my eyes and i will fav this you desevre it!

  4. gadgetgirl16 Nov 01, 2005

wow! that is verry beautiful! you made such a wonderful job on everything! i love the way you done the steps and the building, it looks so much in history ^_^ and the sky that you made, so beautiful! *wishing to fav it* great job!

  5. Yumi-Chan Nov 01, 2005

wow did you actually paint the background? it's nice, soft texture ~ one thing about the font below, maybe you can rotate it to face lower a little? if it's straight, it doesn't go will the stairs' perspective line. hehe ancient stuffs are cool xD good job btw

  6. xXNarutoXx Nov 01, 2005

really really nice wall, i like how u angled the building in the back, as if you are kinda looking from the bottom up.
    good job

  7. phaerax Nov 01, 2005

i m really honored you used a greek theme for your latest wall... especially since it so beautiful! very white but thats not necessarily a bad thing... a green ancient greek wall would look wierd, ne? XP

  8. nekosasu Nov 01, 2005

    oi~
    hmm i'm not really a fan of greek architecture and stuffs but, well. i love it. ^^;
you did a very good job on the painting, yea. the whole setting might be a bit plain, but looking at it gives me quite the same feeling as looking at an old painting at the museum. perfect color choice on the background, it's absolutely homogeneous with the colors of the scan
    one thing i don't really like is the text... the wallpaper title is allright, but the lyrics don't really fit... if they had been smaller and/or more transparent and/or even following the perspective, ie. parallel to the border of the stair above, it would have looked nice... well that's all i have to say... for now ^^;

i can't think of an appropriate conclusion since i am dead tired >_< but it's a great wall, yep yep.
nyo. it's my first comment on mt3, even if i said i'd avoid being here until "beta testing" is over... let's hope this comment goes through. looking at the comments above gives me some more confidence to click on submit post... come on... a bit more... aiya i'll add this wall to my favs as soon as i find out where to do that... keep genki!

  13. studio Nov 01, 2005

Love the colour theme - slate blue is beautiful. I like the simple aspects of this wall - it`s really quite beautiful.

The way you changed the scan/adjusted the background, lols I really can`t tell which X3, is great. <33 it heaps!

  14. drell Nov 01, 2005

I have to say that the detail is magnificent, her tunic on the steps and so on.
Technically this is a masterpiece, but it isn't what I like much, but how you made it is A+.

  15. rocknroll-isgo Nov 01, 2005

Overall, I love the painty-smudgy look and the perspective. The lack of distinct color also seems to set the mood. My only critique is the text: it's too---plain, I guess. I think beveling it into the steps or something of the sort would really help.

  16. Getsufuhma Nov 01, 2005

it looks amazing. the colours are very clean and the whole feel of this wallpaper just simply beautiful. But I have to say that the text shouldn't be there. I still like it through.

  17. etherelithic Nov 01, 2005

The words are not fitting in with the perspective of the building, if that is what you were going for. Also, throwing in Tiananmen Square into the picture seems extremely odd to me. I mean, Greek architecture is probably the polar opposite to the more flamboyant imperial Chinese architecture of the Forbidden City. If you were trying at a political message, I definetly don't think this is appropriately done. However, I do commend the art work and you skill. It just seems a little marred by the words you chose.
