Long time I haven't posted anything-- How you guys are doing?
It took me 2 weeks to perform this wall.
I just love this scan, I really wanted to wall it. Thanks to dalamire, you can find the scan here
Actually, Rei isn't my favorite character (Asuka is XP ) but I like her style. And she looks so cute ;)

I know this wall is not reallistic,
I know it's kinda weird to have a sky so dark with the sun still there,
I know most of people won't understand,
But I like it as it is,
I made this wall this way,
I wanted it to look like this,
I submited it because I wanted to show you what's in my mind.
This picture is something I will never be able to see in real life, because as many of you already wrote: it's
impossible.
I'm not complaining about any of your comments, I just wanted to let you know that this wall is made like I wanted
it to be. And I don't want to change the scene OX
All I want is to share this picture with you guys, not discuss why the sky is so dark: it's dark because in my mind
it's dark >_< nothing complicated ;)
I would really appreciate comments on what's your impressions on it. And not how you would like it to be XP

I have never seen this picture of Rei before... I like the sky which you created very much. The whole picture is looking as a night view but the sun changes it to day. Hard to describe ;)

While the wallpaper is indeed very well crafted, I feel that the actions and pose of the central figure does not contrast well with the background. The central figure somehow just seems out of place with the backdrop.

well the sunset looks nice but the colours you used and the effects at the sky are not so well done
the grass looks prety nice and the chara fits in to the bg but as i sayed the sky needs some work -

the wallpaper looks good i like the sun in the background. but the bright colors turn into dark ones to quickly and the same goes for the watter it looks a bit strange. and just look at the right side so much sun on the water when the sun is too far away and the sky so dark. and it becomes to dark on the top. and the chara isn't that well lightened if one looks at the bg scene behind her and the rest of the bg, she's too bright.

Ok now let's start for a critical:
background is fine. sun effect for example is good.
but you got a high problem with the character integration in the background. And I dunno if the clothes or something near the character is well chosen: it seems sometimes when I look at it that the character was duplicated. And the final paper effect or sotmehting like this is strange for a wall like this one..
Just some thoughts maybe that could help you to improve. -

Haha... read your edited comment. Well, this thumb really caught my eye because of what you did to the sky. I love the effects and you definitely did a terrific job in creating that beautiful background, so *kudos* XD My only critiques for this wallie would be extraction problems... I see white artifacts around Rei's hair... the canvas-like texture that you used in the background creates a nice effect, but it's a little too strong/obvious in some places (like the clouds...) and it makes the grass a little too blurry too. I've mixed feelings about the green glows, but nya. The last thing I would suggest is a bit of text to fill up the night sky a little more, because it does look a little empty. Overall though, this is a very, very lovely wall =P Fabulous conception, solid execution, fantastic ambiance... and yes, Rei looks awfully cute in this scan, I don't think I've ever seen her look so sweet XD Keep up the great work =P this is a really fine wallie and you should feel proud of yourself XD

I understand why you said all that about your wall, one of the goal in a wall is to create something beautiful but unreal that we can't see on a photo. Anyway that's my point of view. ^^
Anyway water looks really nice too :)
The only things that bugs me is Rei that looks too bright. J'ai juste l'impression qu'elle ressort trop par rapport au fond. Sinon le scan s'agence bien avec l'atmosphere, j'aime bien sa pose.
C'est tellement plus facile d'ecrire en francais lol

Oh i love this more than the other one with Rei :) I like the 'impossible' background. Lovin the water, the colors and it looks as if it could have been painted. It's amazing you really did great. I like the fireflies. One thing that stands out to me in the wallie though is that Rei isn't shaded enough. She seems too bright but nonetheless I love that image. Good work!

Beautiful wallpaper. I like the calm, yet mysterious sentiment of this image. The fireflies are a nice detail to emphasize the day to be setting, and night to be falling. Rei's different style of clothing (the sleeve thingie around her right arm) is also a refreshing change. Me likes.
