another wall.. not much to say ^^" i take the photo from stock.xchng.. and make a lot of modification, add the leaves, the birds (little one obviously XD) and all the texture.. >o< about 3/4 hour to make it.. not much layer.. about 20/25.. but i satisfied of the result.. hope ya like too ^^" now need to go to bed XD

Are you sure it's not 10 layers? Cause it basically looks like you took the stock photo, slammed some texture, used some layer on overlaying to saturate colours a bit and added the leaves (which stand out too much, by the way). Unless you created a layer for every single leaf, lol. It doesn't look bad tho, but there's too much contrast between the filtered stock and the scan. *alert blending problems alert*

i disagree- I think its a fabulous graphic wall- something which takes alot of talent to achieve properly... great wall full of emotion and textures- the layering is superb- got my vote ;) [puts as desktop] -

The wall itself isn't bad, but I don't see anything fabulous here. The mountains look bad quality, the scan's flat style doesnt fit at all with a scenic wall, the leaves are way too blurred, and the text (allthough the font is nice) looks like it needs work. The best part of the wall is the bottom texture on the gradiant and the color scheme (that was taken from the stock anyway, so no hoorays for the waller). But I really don't see where the hard work is here, 25 layers for this looks like a lot -

after reading all the comments before me, I wont be saying anything much. Coz I am somewhat agree with candy. shinn's is a bit cruel, so no agree there. I dun really agree about the mountain and the scan. it feels quite nice actually. the text and leaves however I do agree. the text doesnt really fit and the leaves just seems plain weird.
all in all, hey its not a bad job. but there are still room for improvement. ^_^ -

O_O how come everyones doing the grunge now?!? lol its very good. nice work with the bg. scan integrations pretty good. only thing is the text. its too fancy for such a really a gungey wall, even with the lines around it. even tho its a nice work ^^

to me i think the wallpaper's fine.. although just a stock photo in it.. and a number of layers.
it doesn't look bad, honestly the font is okay. and i dont see anything wrong with the mountains/leaves and all =/
don't be too cruel with the critiques ^_^, samanosuke did a good job, and yes his effort was put a lot into this wallpaper. Fav from yumi.

People before me have hit upon a number of points which could use some improvement. The scan you chose is so flat in its coloring that a depth-intensive stock photograph doesn't fit. If you had added shading to the character to make her less flat it would be much nicer. Also, the edges around her and the birds is really jagged, and while there are textures in the wall the photograph is smooth, so the jagged edges just make her stand out more. Although the blue gradients match well with her hair the orange-golds do not - it might have worked better to recolor her dress a warmer golden brown, or desaturate the golden-browns to match the original.
The birds are also troublesome in that they're the same uniform shade - so they look like one congolmerate shape. Each bird should have a slightly different darkness so you can distinguish them individually, and tell which bird is in front of the others. Just a personal point but the white eyes look really creepy, and I'd make them a dark brownish black. The white, since there is no other white, stands out far too much. You may also want to darken the outlines on the birds as again, it's hard to distinguish where the head is in comparison to the rest of the body.
For the small birds in the background, the colors don't seem to match well either. Try for a warmer dark brown.
The leaves are much too small to be realistic. Maple leaves should be the size of one's palm, or thereabouts. The blur does not match the graininess of the scan - they make the leaves too smooth and stand out far too much.
I think the main problem is that it appears that you only take one session to make a wall. Ideally, like a good research paper, you should make it, take a break, look at it and edit it, take a break, look at it and edit it some more, and then finish it. The breaks are extremely important... you get more perspective on how it looks, and get to take a step back and ask yourself, what was I really wanting to do with this? -

I dun know..I think it looks quite nice..
the grungy texture makes it looks like its from tissue paper pasted in many many layers n waalaah! a pretty picture made by hand...but its really made using digital tools..so this 2D wallie is quite nice... ^_^'
everything fits nicely I guess..the dark bg looks like a abandoned place ...the crows r circling around her is quite scary..O_o..like they want to peck her or somethin ..
no need more critiques...since its a unique one ^-^

the idea of the wall is nice but u should take ur time instead of pumping out walls like this. i think less is sometimes more.
the mountins are a little to burned for my taste i think also to black. the see is something what is bothering me the most (it is a see right?) u cant really say if its a see with the mountin reflection or a big sowhatsoever. i think those are parts that need a little workout. like the character but most the birdies. they look horrible flat. if u are going for a texture scenery wall u shouldnt make the characters so flat. give them life or they just look like cuted and placed cause u didnt have any other scan.
in generally i disagree with belmikry and yumi-chan, this is not a fabulous wall and neither really wow to me. its a regular wall who needs a lot of details and workout. also i thing if u upload ur wallpaper to a community u expect critics not asslicking (i dont say that someone did that, its just general thought) cause if thats not the case i dont know why there should be comments in the first place...
see u did ur job its okey but a little more work on it would have been much better. just take ur time for one wall even if u need a week or two atleast u can be sure u did enough effort.
