another wall.. not much to say ^^" i take the photo from stock.xchng.. and make a lot of modification, add the leaves, the birds (little one obviously XD) and all the texture.. >o< about 3/4 hour to make it.. not much layer.. about 20/25.. but i satisfied of the result.. hope ya like too ^^" now need to go to bed XD

beautiful wallie you made there my friend, i like it alot. i'm trying to make these kind of wallie's, hope i can make like this one .. i like the way you made the chara and the bg, also you put a great color on it too, it fit perfect.
but i think you put alot of bird's. :) :D

The others have stated important points about this wall, but I'm going to emphasize on some that I think crucial:
- the scan is wayy to jagged for the background. It looks very contrasting to the sceneric photo, although it's overlayed with grunge technique, the difference is too much. So the scan tends to stands out too much.
- The texturing is very good.
- The birds look unrealistic... they lack shadings, so they look a lot like paper birds. And the white eyes look creepy and sinister, while I spposed you actually want the wall to be a 'heartwarming' one.
- The colors of the photo match well with her outfit, but not with her hair... I think what Tama said is worth considering.
- The maple leaves are indeed too small... have u ever seen an actual maple leaf? It should be bigger, and has leaf bones/textures.Overall, at first sight at the thumbnail, I admit, this wal is a wow...I mean, it's grungey and the composition looks stylish, but after closer inspection, I think it can use more improvements, especially in overall image quality... and what others said about taking breaks in walling is true... don't rush in making walls.
I really liked your latest 'Bloody Moonlight' wall bcause of the quality, but I kinda dissapointed with how this one turns out... -

Ok for the first buddy..
The *Wallpaper is simple as hell*
Bad extraction to the scan, copy and paste to a stock photo without
doing anything to it but adding texture, texture and brush maple leaf.
I can do that under 30 mins of Bad extraction+Texture+Maple Leaf+Paste And Copy+Stock Photo(Without maunplaited it)=Simple wall.

Sadly, I agree with ShiNN84 and candy-chan. There is nothing amazing about this wallpaper, and it hardly deserves all of the attention it's getting.
First, lets start with the backround. The stock photo looks very ruined, you shouldn't have used median on it, or whatever you did. And if you did use median on it, then why is it bad quality? The blurriness of the entire wallpaper also kills it alot for me, I just don't like this wallpaper that much.
The leaves look terrible. You should've done birds, not leaves. And, the leaves are too small for the character and backround. So they just don't fit with your whole idea here. It would make much more sense if she were closer to the trees, not across a lake with little hardly visible and very blurry trees on the other side. You understand?
The texturing and grunging is a newbies attempt. It looks like you used 2 grunge brushes overall on the entire thing, which sucks. You should've used more patterns, and more blending tools to blend the character in with the backround. They make the whole wallpaper look more bad quality than grungy, or whatever feeling you were trying to give this.
Finally, the character. What the hell? It makes no sense at all. She looks like she's walking on water or something? She's purple with an orange-blue-whatever color it is backround. She doesn't blend at all, and you did a horrible job extracting her, you can still see white areas and purple areas from the original backround. You probably should've retraced her also, because all of the lines on her look rough. You didn't even bother cleaning the scan before plopping it on a backround, so it looks more bad quality than you are already making it.
For advice, I'd say throw away the entire backround, leaves, and grunge. Then restart on the wallpaper until you get something much better. Not much help? Make some use of what I have already said then.
