this is my submission for round 2 of the battle royale contest thingy. haah sadly i was dealt the scan again as my theme and it was a scan that i actually wasnt very fond of.
the first attempt at this wall, i actually did a grunge one which i spent about two days working on. i thought it was horrible so i completely scrapped it and tried something else. im not even sure how i came up with this idea but i think the original aim was to do a scenic wall. the stocks that i found though, gave me the idea of what to do. the wall is actually composed of 3 different stocks. the first one, is of the window with a main silohuetted against it. i cged the man out and put the scan in his place. then i shaded it occordingly to match the dark setting. then, i got a city night shot to put in the window since originally the picture had the window showing daylight. then i overlayed a pic of what i tihnk are sparks/lights on top of it. then i made the whole tihng in b/w and and added the comic styled lines which i took from the film noir "double indemnity".

I like the overall feel of the wallpaper... ^_^ ... And I think it's great concept... It really reminds me of noir movies... ^_^ ... The characters really look like they are there... :) ... I juts not so sure about the white boxes... I dunno... ^_^' ... I just think they kind of distract the view from characters... :) ... But I like the text that you put on them... :D ... Overall... I think is a great work... ^_^ ... WIsh you Good Luck on the contest... :) ... :waves:

I really like the concept for this wall but in my opinion the poem on this white bckground is really disturbing, it hurts one's eyes >.< if you could make the background trasnparent and use different color for the font then you are there.

THe image could have been bigger but nonetheless the noir look is awesome and oldschool which goes together with the whole wall...Great job as always mate! :)

I have to say. This is probably one of my favorite submissions. I grew up reading manga but I also grew up reading old school Marvel and DC comics. This wall reminds me of the old newspaper print comics that were only in black and white. For those fans of modern comics, it's like Frank Miller's Sin City and Batman. Very cinematic. I especially like how you seamlessly combined all the different elements into this wall.

i also like your long explainations. It allows us a brief glimpse into your thought process and work process. Kind of like an artist's journal. Great job crappy!

    classic.
INteresinting approach to the walling styles.
    Looks very realistic to me.
The moood and the scenery is kinda nice.
The text on the other hand gives extra uniqueness to the all .
My personal fav from this has to be the lightning effect.
    Looks awesome.

If you had put some bright crimson in there somewhere, maybe on her lips or clothing, it would be very Sin City-ish. ^_^ I loved that movie so it's not an insult at all! (I've heard some people hate it, but I liked it.) Good use of Range-sama also.

    this is...well
to say the least, unique XD

most of the elements of the wall fits really well together....but....the comic box really distracted me on the wall *_*

other then that, it looks great, and is really really.....unique....and the reflection off the ground is awesome
