A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step, says Lao-tzu and I say - they did it...

Ispired by the violin music of "Hero" - the movie...
Dedicated to DREAM and markjo - the king and queen of Amano...
A sneak preview for Tecnophreak , he knows why...

I used a couple of Amano scans by DREAM, a texture layer, brush work, effect layers etc.
Anyway I shall say one of my best so far... look closer for the eyes of evil and the three embrios...

Hero with Jet-Li??...what a strong message that movie set forth.... .....they are like adam and eve, those two...what lurks beyond that doorway??<--- this submition allows my imagination to run wild...i can pick up my pen and write a thousand endings!! XD those shadows are sucking the couple in, no? much like the origional sin... i love everything from the tiled floor that reminds me of an acid trip a long time ago(**shudder**), to the use of numb, drowsy, almost dream-like colorzz... this is a fav.! much respect dernier-duuude!! ...i love finding how all the little stuff fits in to the whole idea and setting of an artwork....this one takes da cake. XD

    wow! :falls out of chair:

i was hoping you would make a wall on the Amano drawings but i wasn't sure which one(s) you would choose, DernierCri. ;)

first off "Doors to the other side" is one of my 5 favorite works from"Maten".

wow the background is incredible- the 3 embryos on the floor. damn
makes me think of Angels Egg. i also love how you added to the space outside the door- making the mood of the two lovers more ominous.

DernierCri you weren't kiddding when you said "Enjoy and reflect..."
that is what great art forces the viewer to do- think and reflect upon what they see...

i am absolutely positive markjo will enjoy this wall as much as i have. ;)

once again thanks so much DernierCri. XD

    absolute definite fav
    adieu

    awesome color.
    The scan is very sentimental.
I think u might as well captured the imagery from the movie ^_^
    awesome work.

Oh sh*t! X_X That's some killer looking Amano wall, DC! The perspective is beyond anything I could imagine, and do I see three embryos on the bottom of the patched B/W floor? 0_0 Wow, very creative, man! You must have such an enriching imagination to design such a wallie, DC! I'm impressed! :)

  14. Skillzpay Apr 06, 2005

That's an awesome scan that you used, really like how you brought out its colors and gave it so much life. Great work DC :D

I really love the colours, so bright and vibrant. Finally found your inspiration again, huh?

Very nice work: it's not one of my favorite scans from Amano, but you did some nice work with it. I can see why it lends itself to a wallpaper, as well. Interesting choices of other pictures/scans to incorporate into it. I'm not too big on the embryos, though I have to it is an interesting touch... Not sure what it really has to do with the overall idea of the wallpaper, though. It is interesting that you've incorporated the ideas of birth, life, love, and the possible threat of death into the wallpaper. In general, once more, nice work.

I'm beginning to feel slightly redundant. I don't want to make the same comments on your walls, but everytime I see a new piece that touches me like this one...well, I just feel strongly about it. I'm not sure if you have any formal art training, but it sure looks like you do. This piece is beautiful.
