((Background)) This is Kaoru, lead guitarist of Jrock band Dir en grey
((Inspiration)) It was hard to change the original scan, because there were these black wall panels that I wanted to keep, but it was harsh against the (was) bright red background. Also, Kaoru's pose looked like he was punching a button, so I added that in.
((What I did)) I mostly fiddled with lighting, brushes and had lots and lots of layers.
((Effect)) I wanted to juxtapose the curves with geometric straight lines to create a fantastical and also realist world
