Firstt off, congrats on getting a scanner.

Wow! you have just the opposite problem I have... I draw people wide, probably the angle I'm looking at what I'm drawing, and you draw things skinny, I'm guessing for a similar reason. I've just posted 4 of my fan arts of real people (but their from Japan, so you may actually recognize them!).

The image seems kind of "flat". I remember someone telling me that on some of my earlier fan drawings from book covers and images. It also used to take me 8 or more hours to do sketches, trying to be a human Xerox machine, copying every detail. This image looks like some of the things I tried to draw back when I was 16.

ALso, The tall guy, seems to have 2 elbows? His arm around the shorter guys face is arced a bit. Hands were a little flat, but I'll let it slide because hands, fingers and bare feet are all hard to draw right (realistically or comically). But maybe it was for artistic license too. Some major published works in the US have flaws like this too, so I'm not trying to be mean. Having an underlying skeleton of what you want to draw, keep the image from looking "flat".

http://gallery.minitokyo.net/view/94362/ THis is a fan art I did that probably best illustrates the use of structuring or a skeleton.

Still it's good, I'm just trying to help your future works be the best they can be.
    :D

aren't scanners nice? I'm a poor college student, so I stick with using the ones at school. I'm glad you're starting to post your work.
You did a great job capturing Shuichi's cute expression (especially the eyes), but Yuki gave you some trouble, I see. Then again, he's a pain in the butt to draw, so the only way to get better is to keep trying. Can't wait to see more of your work!
