Artist Comment
I posted this wall back at AP. The scan came from Red XIII of AP. But I decided to jazz it up with grunge and textures. It took about 8 layers to get the effect on Reika. And A bunch of layers and hours of playing around the filters and textured brushes. This one was a killer on my computer speeds. About 40 layers of textures, stock pic and old map scans I had, 7 layers of effects of Rei and other stuff bring this to 50 layers took forever to finishe due to other stuff 102 mb of ancient grunge goodness! Enjoy!!

A little more gaussian blur could be used to blend the scan in with the background. Nice job otherwise.

Lovely wall the textures and brushes make this such an exceptional piece of art! The chracter fits togehter adn aint this your past avatar? XD But anyway wish the outline of the chracter were darker but the text fits well so easily...

I love Reika! And this wall shows her in every wonderful way. I love the textures, they look so well done. Excellent image of Reika as well, the colors looks so perfect. Awesome wall!

Yay, deddy! (*jumps on deddy & hugs her*) XD I remember seeing this character on your avy and sig, ne? :) Hehe, rock on! The grunges and textures on teh BG looks sublime! I see you added sum world maps and what not to the mix as well! :D As for the character, U might want to remove the outlines from her extraction! Wat I do is highlight her by holding CTRL & click on teh scan layer, and then use Select :: Modify :: Contract to 1 pixel! Then Inverse and delete the desired outline! Viola, she looks magnifique! XD Anyhoo, it still is a wonderful wallie, deddy! Hope my simple tutorial helps U out, ne! ;) [+ 2 favs]

Hey....wasn't this your avatar at one point?? Heh, heh...thought it was familiar. I really like the scan but I think I like how it's integrated into the BG more. The way the grunge overlaps the character is done very skillfully. It's enough to make the image interesting but not too much as to cover up or distract. The color is a nice earthy color that fits very well with the image. I think the feathers are an exceptional touch. Their slight glow adds intrigue and contrast the darker colors. It also makes her skin almost seem luminous. very nice job!

Such beautiful rustic and auntumnal colours. Golds, yellows, browns and oranges :D I love this wallpaper. The background absorbs her in, and suits the pose. A really nice balance :D
