I cannot escape myself... I dive deeper and deeper, looking for my inner light, but the only thing I see is the rain of tears... and I'm wet.. deeper and deeper I go, but all I can see is darkness

look closer for texture and please don't give me the "good work as usual" comments I am fed up with those.

How deep is your inner light?

And we seek ourselves in the dark abyss called our subconcious...but for me i have found why i have been this way for so long, my inner light is sadness or melancholy...I channel it, i suck it dry from people and i dwell under thousands of layers of my different personas i try taking up everyday.

Anyway the scan is beautiful cos its got a unique bluish color ive never seen much in walls...grunge and texture work completes this...wish it had a title but with or without it is just fine with me! :)
    Nice job as always mate!

good work. ok no, just joshing. hmm. what drew me to this picture, ha, drew me. hehe, well i thought it was funny. but the umbrella. i love umbrellas. they are so cool. and this picture really shows how chill umbrellas are. they so are like a force field, a barrier for blocking out all the wetness and cold that is brought on by rain. they are a fun thing to play with, whirl around and dance with. and when the suns smile turns to a frown you can just hide away underneath one.

the weird splatter thing going on around the bottom reminds me of my final drawing project. very inky. like if you had dipped a stick in some ink and just hit it against the paper or let it drip a few drops. and the lines are like how charcoal is drawn the paper when you draw something. wow. it really looks alot like what was happenig in my drawing studio, even the texture of the piece looks like hard stock paper. but its sort of cheesy. i don't know why. well i do i just don't know the proper way of saying. overall i dig this piece. mainly because of the umbrella, then the reminder of drawing studio and the rad likeness to some of the things that i did and saw/experienced with the tools in class. then the color of the whole piece. i really like dull colors and blue is so only second to purple, and then the scan.

    so there, mr sad face.

my inner light grows bright with each passing day
    a smile lent to another
i will hear for the deaf and see for the blind
a low five and i'll be fine.
thanks for posting my dear friend

ah well it's really simple. the background texture is surely nice but overall you didn't change much compared to the original scan. anyway the color is my current favorite so i love just how you dyed it. and inner light seems to match the scan. rei is a bit light and the back is very dark, looks great.

She is the moon! her umbrella seems to be the source of light - as if the moon went down to earth for a wal in a rainy day. Still her body seems to be much darker then the coat and the umbrella , but this gotta be the original scan's fault. The texture reminds me somehow of this noise you see on the photos from industrial camera or ones with light amplifier... Hey! There could be a whole story written just around this one wallie, and if it's thought provoking - it's good.
The grunge used gives it the looks of a worn out photo, still the colors used don't hint toward that interpretation XD. Gettin' loopy, sorry. I like the atmosphere of it. Thank you for your work.

I love the original scan of this, and I'm so pleased that someone has turned it into a worthy wallpaper. The blue makes it into not just a rainy day, but a real sense of gloom to the weather too... as well as obviously reflecting Rei's unnatural hair colour ;) And yet the name Inner Light is so true... it's bright! Despite the dreary atmosphere the light umbrella really picks up the feel of this wall... It's just beautiful!!! :D

Thanks for sharing all your hard work with us :)

Good work as usual. Heheheh...just kidding.

I like the colour scheme but I dunno, there seems to be an incongruence between the colour scheme and Rei's expression. The colours emphasise a gloomy atmosphere yet I can't tell whether Rei is smiling or frowning (I think there is a slight smile there so it can't be all gloomy). Use of canvas effect is good as well. Gives it a painted canvas feel.

    Hmmm...consider this one fav'ed.

So I see you're getting tired of all those "Good work" posts you keep getting? Looks like I have to up the ante to critique your work, ne? ^_^' First off, I have to say the blue grunge you designed on the BG really shows off how gloomy a rainy day feels like! Also, the character, whom I dunno if it's Rei or not, fits very nicely and you've cleverly blended her with a blue grunge just like the BG! Overall, you've managed to capture such huge atmosphere with your new wallie, and I know for a fact that this deserves way higher than "Good work"! [+ 2 favs] XD

I wonder where to you get all those scans... sweet sweet sweet and your overall work is even more sweet!
She looks a bit like rei ayanami... but then... and the bg is really nice.. and well... i wanted to make it onstructive but i dont see anything wrong made in this well! Prefection made!

  9. rocknroll-isgo Mar 04, 2005

Hmmm... no "good work as usual"? >_> Well I personally don't think there's anything to critique. The overlaying texture is nicely done. I particularly like the simplicity --- no fancy effects, no bright text --- and yet it still comes together. Nor is the grunge overdone. An overall soothing wall... if you ignore the angst, that is. ^_^'

Quality! I like the somber look of the wallpaper!
It reminds me of the quote: Do you ever have the
feeling that when you turn away the shadow are moving..
I can't really say why ^_^' Well anywayz! Nice metal grungy ^^

  11. polar Mar 04, 2005

i love the color choice, calm yet mysterious
the glowing umbrella is a beautiful touch, but i kinda wish rei's figure were alittle darker ^^just my personal prefrence ^0^

Wow, the atmosphere is absolutely great on this wallpaper. Really really pretty; you make Rei Ayaname look even hotter than her usual self.
