I have decided to create a new term to describe my work: vexture, or a textured
vector, which can be used to describe a fair number of my works.
This vexture features Kino from Kino no Tabi. (Stop groaning! I'm obsessed and I admit it!) The image comes from a
picture of the Japanese rerelease DVDS; I believe this is disc 5 of 6. The original image was about 200x300 pixels large but I just absolutely love the pose and the
disc itself won't be released until until the 16th, and I don't have enough money to buy all the Japanese
discs as imports. So I had to make do. Thankfully, vectors resize beautifully.
Since the original has her standing in a pool of water, so does this wallpaper. Clouds and birds were off a variety of
stocks from Stock Exchange. I especially like the bird stock, which
came from an image named "People of the Sky". Fits so perfectly with the bird imagery that's present in
the series itself. Otherwise I distort-filtered up some water and added lots and lots of texture. The idea was to give
it an old canvas painted feeling that I've put on a bunch of my other Kino walls.
