I have decided to create a new term to describe my work: vexture, or a textured vector, which can be used to describe a fair number of my works.
This vexture features Kino from Kino no Tabi. (Stop groaning! I'm obsessed and I admit it!) The image comes from a picture of the Japanese rerelease DVDS; I believe this is disc 5 of 6. The original image was about 200x300 pixels large but I just absolutely love the pose and the disc itself won't be released until until the 16th, and I don't have enough money to buy all the Japanese discs as imports. So I had to make do. Thankfully, vectors resize beautifully.
Since the original has her standing in a pool of water, so does this wallpaper. Clouds and birds were off a variety of stocks from Stock Exchange. I especially like the bird stock, which came from an image named "People of the Sky". Fits so perfectly with the bird imagery that's present in the series itself. Otherwise I distort-filtered up some water and added lots and lots of texture. The idea was to give it an old canvas painted feeling that I've put on a bunch of my other Kino walls.

This image may not be published elsewhere without explicit permission from Tama-Neko. Minitokyo, members and affiliates will do all to protect it's members from such copyright violation.

rofl...vexture, that's a great word to coin XD it fits the style of this wall perfectly, great job :)

ooooo, very cool ^_^ I like the various effects you did with the wall :D

Ahh~ you even get your own word! XD That's why you have rips <lol> (apart from the fact that there are fools in this world, of course).

Nice image, indeed. :) She looks cheeky... an almost foreign expression, as far as previous piccies go. XD And very shapely. Ahh~ thanks for sharing it with us. :) Beautiful painted look, too. I love that canvas-texture overlay. *hats off to another fine job*

My God! I love that canvas texture! It's fantastic! Really bright & fresh... with a sneaky, sly, cheeky pose! :D Nice work on your 'vexture' ;)

I love your "vexture"! It's really well done and used here. If I didn't know 98% of your works were vectors I wouldn't have known this one was also one of them. ^^; Good job!

o.O what you did was really good! the "vexture" is terrific =p
the colours match greatly and all ^^ a fav from me!~

Its so interesting and different. I love the textured style and look forward to seeing more things like this from you.

vexture.. lol I hereby witness the birth of a new wallpapering art standard XD
Congrats on making this superb wallpaper, Tama! ;)
Keep it up!!

kino looks quite different from the usual artwork, she's much more feminine here.
nyaa I just loooooooove the textures here, I think im going to marry that wallpaper ;_;
and the colors.. :3 teal is the pwn-ness

LOL Wow! Vexturing! ^_^' I'll bet that will be the new style for 2005, Tama-san! XD Very, very unique canvas-style wall, I never seen anything quite like it! :D The scan is so cool and the BG is well designed cleverly I might add! The birds are a nice addition, give off some depth on the wall! You should make a patent for this new type of style! i'll support your "Vexturing" 100%! XD

I like this new vexture idea Tama! It looks like a painting! Beautiful colors and great scan! nice job!

interesting wall as usual ^^>
like the texture ^^.

good work, thanks for sharin ^^

Nice texture, and it reminds me of those watermark-like painting. The concept and the excutation of it was very good, I want to see what other wall you can do with this style. A darker look might also be good. good job.

This new style that you're trying seems to have been a success. The water color effect is dazzling. (btw, I checked out that link, and that new young Kino picture on DVD 2 is just.... O_O)

Another amazing creation here. I got linked to this page from your other wallpaper, 'Kino: On a Wing and a Prayer'. They are both equally great. I definitely like the colours for this one, and the background composition is great too. No complaints here, as it would go great with my turquoise Windows theme. ^^
+Favourites.

Beautiful wallpaper
I really like the texture's inlaying. Colors are very pleasant
I find kino's pose great too ^^ (pretty buttocks :p )

You know Tama, the texture you did makes it look like the entire wall IS underwater ^^; or at least thats how it looks to me. Excellent vexture XD I really like this one alot. Its up there with all the others I cant decide upon which to place on the desktop x_x . Love it!

Great work. Congratulations!!!
I like this anime and the wallpaper is amazing

this wall looks awesome ^_^ it's like painting ! really like the colours of this wall, they are so calm. kino's pose is nice, there isn't many wallies where you can see character from back. water looks dreamy and flying birds are great details :D wonderful work and thank you for sharing !
