There is a luxury in self-reproach. When we blame ourselves, we feel that no one else has a right to blame us. It is the confession, not the priest, that gives us absolution.
- Oscar Wilde

Altough i was away and my other recent submission was labeled [not by me] as my comeback... ok too many words... i put my heart, mind and eyes in this for the last three weeks, so this is what i would call my come back wall... and my best... so far.
scan here: http://gallery.minitokyo.net/view/4453/ i used one more for the second figure but i cannot find it.

for the color lovers... sorry guys!
for the others... so what is the verdict?

Woow! Never seen anything like this man!! And I have seen about everything
in walling sections XD It redefines walling!!! Soo much impressive!! Like those
old black and white Marvel comics! Like the new Sin City film by Bruse Willis! Impressive!!!! An absolute fav for me ^__^ b

  3. Devilet Jan 27, 2005

Wow, very impressive and creative ^^
Really like this one, and it's a good black and white sequence + fav

  4. KevLar Jan 27, 2005

Great vector job. Only one error I spotted and that's cibo's(was that cibo?) left wing would extend over the gap between the bulidings, so there should be black there(version2 please). White is too bright to use this as a wallpaper but that can be fixed with PS. Great quote along with it. I hope to see some more creations from you(hopefully more Blame!)

  5. Ninja Jan 27, 2005

Nice simple looking black and white wallpaper, I don't see these kinds too often so good job.

  6. tAtEkAnE Jan 27, 2005

  7. tecnophreak Jan 27, 2005

  8. Aa-chan Jan 27, 2005

I was a bit shocked by the black and white, but when you see it on screen, it looks stunning. A great piece of work ^^ .

  9. GaiJiN Jan 27, 2005

Hehe then welcome back with this one XD !
Hum, first, I like black&white pics, and I like Tsutomu Nihei's art... so this is a natural fav :) .
Then by looking at the scan you used, I must say you did an awesome work on this one, the composition with the black and white shapes looks great. And once you set is as desktop, the perspective is really brilliant :D !

A fantastic piece Dernier! This is truly worthy of a fav! Sometimes, we need to return to the simplicity of the hard lines of black and white; not even gray. I applaud your vision, and your efforts on this. Well done!

  12. shirahana Jan 27, 2005

Hey ^_^ This is a cool style. The eyes look sad, angry, hateful, and accusing all at the same time @_@; Well done ^_^

  13. Skillzpay Jan 28, 2005

Nice to see that you're back DernierCri!
This is quite the original wall and I find the b&w color scheme to be very appropriate for this. And great job on the vector :)

yeah cool effects on the design motiv. Could have some more but the simplicity is something to look out in this wall but nonetheless its a great work from your comeback! XD

  15. polar Jan 28, 2005

  16. Cldmani Jan 29, 2005

  17. markjo Jan 29, 2005

Although 'Blame' is not one of the mangas I really enjoyed, the wallpaper is a great composition. Sometimes strong contrasts, as the one with black and white colours, are the best solutions for a wallpaper. It definitely fits Tsutomu Nihei's style and the manga.

love the concept and delivery of this wallpaper.

when i first saw it i was reminded of one of my favorite artists, Frank Miller's "Sin City". ^^ this is meant as "great" praise- btw to all those whom :sigh: may not know who Frank Miller is..

black and white artwork can deliver "something" which a colored work cannot.

Wow... this image looks really good! I must look through all your works!... But it takes so much time... and I am supposed to concentrate on my uni work... *lol* I love the black and white contrast of this wallpaper... it has a very strong effect on the viewer!

Beautiful. I would never have thought to imagine BLAME! in a style like this, but it absolutely works. The absence of color is exactly what it needs, and the simplicity is excellent. Some of the edges look a bit rough, but otherwise it's great. Fabulous job!
