the scan, its fine. but try to soften her a bit. duplicate komugi's layer, gaussian blur 5 and change the blending mode. cant really say which one since every time I do it, the mode is alwayz different depending on the bg ^_^"

I think you are way too hard on yourself. The image is nicely extracted and the swirls in the BG look like gust of wind that are blowing her skirt up. It fits very well. Most of the weight (from the image and the BG swirls) is on the lower right which leave a comfortable open area in the opposite corner. It doesn't feel lopsided at all because the busy corner leans towards the empty one.

i could do without the font though. It doesn't fit at all!! Other than that, I think it's great!
