Something to complement Fire Ward... Truth be told, I wasn't planning to do another "Ward" wallpaper, but it just seemed too empty without something special happening.

The bush was made out of a brush I made out of a tree shodaw map from my texture packs. The tree is another texture, lassoed to size, then smart blured and dust+scratched to make it look less realistic. I did the same to the background which I got from.... crap... The site's somewhere on one of my HDs... I'll post it when I find it. The firelies are a simple brush, with it's layer multiplied 4 times, 2 of those layers are gaus blurred at a moderate level for a glow.

The character underwent some fixing with the shadows (god bless the smudge tool), and the sword was removed from the scan and given it's own layer. Twice. This was so I could get it to glow like it does.

Thanks go to... Kel, Jackal, Ai, kdshortman and Tama-neko for helping me make this wall with your suggestions. I demand everyone to bow down to Candy-chan for the help she gave me. This wall would be crap if it weren't for Candy-sama. All hail the Candy.

Now it's time for me to sleep.. oh crap, the sun's comming up. There goes that idea....

Well, I fixed the fog up... it looks a bit more like real fog now (fog ain't grey Katzbalger!). I also had to make another tree because some idiot forgot to make a new layer when making fog between the character and tree.

Another Edit
When I changed this to my current wallpaper, I realised how harsh the sword really was, so I made it softer, and less harsh. Also, the fireflies have a bit more glow now.

    the force is with you young Skywalker, the last details you added gives a nice composition to the wall, great overall bt I still dont like that fog, the dark force is powerfull beyond those borders...

    wow! shweeeeeet! XD XD XD i like the bg effects ad those trees texture XD gimme the tuts katz! OX those fireflies looks perfect! i can feel them flowing in the thumbnails already XD the sword was awesome too :nerd: o_0 what bothers me is that the point of the attraction was the sword coz it stands alone brighter than others but its cool! XD a fav of course! ill make it double if i could ;)

    Very nice work Katz. I really like the whole atmosphere of the wallpaper.. including the fog and the fire-flies. I also liked how you mixed real life objects with anime. And the effect that you did on her sword, it's attracting all those fire-flies, which is cool. A job well done. ;)

    Another fantastic wall, katz! I particularly love the glowing sword, both on its own, and as contrasting to the ghostly mist of the bg. The girl is fantastic as well. Really neat how the sword's glow lights up her clothing slightly, while her face remains in relative shadow...... :D
