I'm taking a short break from the Bishounen Invasion (the next wall in the set I'm working on is Spiral) -
although one could argue that Spike qualifies as Bishounen. Basically, I like this image (I scanned it off of a
promotional flyer for Knocking on Heaven's door that I bought for a few
bucks) because of the positioning of the characters in a classic "face off" pose. Although the original image
had typical cel-shading detailing, I wanted to do something different (don't I always?) and go for a shillouette
with the light playing off of their shapes from the tower behind them. By the way, I hate vectoring buildings, even
wireframe things like the tower. Urgh. Not doing that again anytime soon -_- The image went through several styles as I
toyed with gradients in the background trying to get a final composition that worked. I added some textures and came
into this sort of framed image with the tower aglow and all.
I've been doing a fair number of orange wallpapers lately. It's a nice change from my usual blue-greens.
All in all, about 5 hours work, 50megs.
