Artist Comment

Here is the second in my reworked elements series. Since the first was the sun it was appropriate that this be the moon. I had a "moon" element in the original set, but this is much different. I'm still experimenting with what themes will be carried over in each piece, but working off of ideas from "the sun" you can continue to see the swirl shapes and grid patterns.
When I first started out I had no clue what I would do. Then I settled on the phases of the moon as its distinctive characteristic. The moon is dark and opposite the sun so a cool, dark blue fit well. Add a sprinkling of stars to cement the night time atmosphere, and this one's done. Took me about 1 hour to create.
