Artist Comment
I started this project a few years ago as just another cosplay project for C.C. It is an extension from my fan-fiction, Book of the Shadows.
In my fan-fic, C.C is one of twelve beings near the beginning of existence, and has the name of Eve. Lilith of the Yamibou series is one of her sisters, and retains her name. I basically use the backstory of the relationship between Lilith and Eve from the Yamibou series for my Eve's backstory, but replace many events with those of C.C's story out of Code Geass. It's a little complicated to fully explain here, so I apologize if it doesn't seem to make much sense.
I based the work mainly on Lilith, because Eve rarely dons this outfit in the Yamibou series. Either way shouldn't make much difference, but if you do spot a separation, that may be the source. I went with C.C's boots from her Black Knights uniform instead of the buckle shoes, though I went with the color of the shoes. I also changed the hanger on the lantern from the crescent moon as it is with Lilith, to a crescent of stars.
I have rarely used this sort of lighting scheme, where the light source is in the image, so making the shadows and highlights work was a fairly fresh experience. I hope to do one like this with Dark Magician Girl in the future.
