This reminds me of Albel Nox from Star Ocean: Till the End of Time. He fights with a katana and with a claw gauntlet on his left arm. His hair is also similar...only Albel's is longer in the back. And there are other factors in this picture that don't apply to Albel...but at the first look and a longer look it kept reminding me of him. And the fact that Albel is an enemy at first but becomes an ally later on in the game.
