Okay...... *takes a deep breath*
SO I'M FINALLY FINISHED WITH THIS WALL!
It's a present for Alenas, that I promised to finish
in May but well shiz happened... >.>
So anyway! It's an member/fan art wall, and something I'm so happy to finish! :3
All started by a panel of TG when Kaneki said to Ayato that he'll "Half Kill" him. I really liked it but
the scan was tooo small to vector. So I sketched it,
made a BG that I thought will suit Kaneki.
I finished most of BG in April then got busy with college and wall and didn't continue it much and it was piled up
in wips folder, until june, wen I started working on it again, but sudden blackout corrupted the file and the backup was
of April, so had to rework on it, and when it was almost complete, another black out happened and I lost my progress
again to the point I thought of giving up this wall. Because I thought, Kaneki's tragic Bad luck stuck on my art
too D:
Changed his t-shirt 2 times but I think it still is looking a bit awkward.
All Textures are made up preloaded photoshop brushes and some self made, I had hard time smudging all those clouds. But
then I got to know about awesome use of flow and opacity to blend and thus I've created my own painting technique.
Everything is painted except lines and hair and well moon shape, lol.
I really hope Alenas will like it! :D

Sorry I wasn't online during the process of creating this piece >.<
First of all: nice clouds in the bottom! <3 (those in the top should look a bit different to my mind, it all is about the highlights). And the composition with the angle are done well :)
There's smth that bothers me about the shadowing his tentacles: the one to the left in the bottom looks a bit strange. I guess, it sould have more shadowing (will send you an example).
And overall it's a good job! Keep it up :3
Ooh, it's finally done! I remember you mentioning you had problems with this, but man, that sounds like a real streak of bad luck lol. Glad to see it finally done.
Your Kaneki looks pretty good and I like the lighting in this (although I'd add more of those moonlight highlights on the edges of his Kagune and darken some parts as Painter suggested.) Ditto for the clouds and maybe making everything a bit more...hazy, yenno? Kinda like in this wall, it seems like a good example.
But yeah, this looks really nice overall and thanks for the dedication! <3 :3
First of all, you chose a very good pose. Kaneki looks very badass, staring down at us from that rock.
If I get this right, it's supposed to be a "from below" view, no? In that case I'd change the folds
on the sleeves to make them look like going "up" instead of "down" and maybe entirely delete the
ones on his chest. They're disturbing the perspective for me.
The rock looks too smooth; I'd like to see more uneaven and sharp edges and more and deeper cuts in it.
On the other side, I love the bright tentacles, shining red eye and the beatiful starry sky. Also, good work on the
lights and shadows.
Sorry to hear about all the trouble you went through but still looking forward to your next work! It must go better if
you choose a less unlucky character. :P
I witnessed how much hard work you put on it after many cursed times x.x
