Wallpaper created 1/13/13 in Photoshop CS2 (Vector done in GIMP).
My Filia wallpapers are a labor of love, okay? She's my favorite character. Like, not just in Slayers.
I'm admittedly not that good at vectoring. I think this is one of the better ones I've done. The original image I used was a screenshot from episode 14 of Slayers TRY.
It's a difficult episode for Filia, and certainly less pleasant than the soft colors or the filigree or the wispy clouds I've used, would lead you to believe. But I wanted to highlight the change and the character growth as something very special. I love all the characters in Slayers, but I honestly think Filia has the best, most complete, character arc of all. Not a popular opinion, but there you go.
For the text... well, I was actually paraphrasing a line from The Hobbit. Not even, like, the actual *book*, it's been too long since I've read it to know if there's a line like this there too. I'm talking the Rankin/Bass animated TV movie. After a little hunting, I found the full line, it's: "There are moments which can change a person for all time. And I suddenly wondered if I would ever see my snug little hobbit-hole again. I wondered if I actually wanted to."
Anyway, I'm glad I showed some restraint with my font choices this time. Not always the case, I'm afraid. I overthink things sometimes.
