I think i texture over the Chars would do wonders since the BG looks far to real compared to the Chars so maybe its worth a try and adjusting the color tones to the BG as well

Texture? Like what? How do I do that in Photoshop? Can you tell me how? Do u mean it's like one of those 'filters'?
Adjusting the color? Yeah that's what I thought too. So I adjusted the color. Here is the original one.^^
Maybe it's not enough.
