Great work!
They were totally meant for each other, this render and this background. Perfect match. I can't even imagine Sanzo and Goku from this pic with a different baclground. -

This is a really good composition and the BG is beautiful but the art style of the characters doesn't really coincide with the style of the BG. It's an awesome idea but it would need some more work to better merge everything.
