So this was my entry for the final round of Knockout, where it landed second place. I wasn't expecting to get second place at all as I did this in a day and a half, work became busy and I did kind of forget :D
But for a day and halfs work I'm happy enough with the outcome.

My theme was sunrise, city and cherry blossoms, a first I was going to go with a more 'Kyoto' look and something that was more inside of the a city but to me it seem like the really obvious choice to go for so I decided to go for this, as I had always wanted to wall guilty crown ( though if I had done at my own pace it most likely wouldn't look like this) My cherry blossoms are more abstract/angular as I felt the redjuice's work as that feel to it a bit. Honestly I would have loved to vector the city but on the scale of time it was really impossible to do, so I had to live with fixing up the scan and make up parts of the city from other parts of the original scan.
From the comments of my last entry there a lot about the lighting, so i did spend more time on this with lighting which the judges saw (so happy about that :P)
There was some comments about her hair, honestly the original style of redjuice isn't my style but I decided that it would be better to stick to the original and honor that somewhat.

That dress was murder to do....seriously....

Originally I was going to fix all my entries for this competition... but I have decided I most likely won't as it was what i managed to do in the time given to me. If I ever feel like it i might get around to fixing some bits in one or two of them but...yeah.

Was a really good compition..but not for me..I'm defo more of a do it how I want when I want and I like to change my mind A LOT with this I really couldn't do that. Haha...who knows I might compete again but then again I might not haha.

I used this scan
and this Scan

NOW ON TO MY OTHER WALLPAPERS! :D

Yay, first submission. I actually like this wallpaper quite a lot. Well, I don't really have much to say anymore other than that I think most of the wallpaper would be fixed with a little more blending with lighting (little more blue/yellow on the right) and fixing those cherry blossoms. They really look odd to me. Great work though ~

I can relate to you liking more freestyle. People usually don'y just participate for the prizes, but also to motivate and inspire themselves. Eventually, you're able to blow yourself away with the things you can pull off under a little bit of pressure. Not to mention, I'm pretty certain every one of you also improved.

I must say I really love your color palettes. You seem to lean a lot towards pink and purple which is my favorite color. You had a great idea for composition and blended the city with Inori pretty well, also in terms of colors. However, I wish you hadn't used this scan of the city but the image from Zerochan, which I suggested to Painter for her latest wall as well. The city here is a bit grainy. The cherry blossom petals look kinda out of place and it took me a while to figure out they were on branches and not just masses of petals floating around. Other than that, I really enjoyed this wall, I liked your vectoring - the tree, the dress, and Inori's hair must have been hard to vector. You did a great job and congrats on the second place! :)
