I like the idea and the edit on your tumblr but I don't think it's suited for a wallpaper. This looks rather empty with all the white space around the character. Maybe you could add some more birds, clouds, bokeh or something else and update it? In any case, the sketch is really nice. Your work? If not, can you source the original, please?

Pretty much agree with elisadevelon on the emptiness. I'd recommend increasing the contrast slightly so that the texture is more visible; as it is, it creates borders on the top and bottom of the image, leaving the middle left and right sides empty.
Other than that, the sketch is great and the more rough quality goes well with his pose and expression. Really digging the sun and birds in the background, as well.

Unlike the other comments, I actually really like the white space(emptiness) in the previous comments. Though it would be nice to see the original so that we can get a feel/appreciate what you did to achieve the wallpaper. The overall look and feel the wallpaper is nice aswell :D If any changes maybe the reddish circle could be bigger and moved a little more. :D
I'm not a fan of where your sig is ....
