So this is my submission for the second round of Knockout 2014!

I honestly didn't think I would get this in on time, as i didn't start this until 4 days before the deadline. Unfortunately no great excuse simply I couldn't decided whether the judges would get where I was coming from with my interpretation of the theme that we were given, in the end I decided to just go with it and if they didn't get it...then I suck hahahaha!
I was going to fix something that the judges pointed out, which I did kind of noticed after I submitted it but I really didn't have the time to do them. I was going to do these fixes before uploading but I thought it would be nice just to upload it the way I submitted it because well thats how it was judged.
At some point I might get about to making those changes but no promises! :D

Anyway this is the Scan that I used.

I freakin' loved this anime was pure brilliant! Although it wasn't my first choice when I first started thinking about the wallpaper for this round but the more I thought about the more this was more appealing to way I wanted to create. Should have really called this "Unpleasant" haha

Honestly I'm not sure how people will feel about this wallpaper as I haven't made any of the changes and almost everytime I try something new there's a comment about how it's different and not what I normally do. Although with this wallpaper I really wanted to combine a lot of the styles/techniques that I have been tried out previously. I'm pretty happy with the result in some area's, not all, the dude at the back on top of the ball....damn he bothers me....but .... no excuses haha.

Yeah not sure what else to say, please be gentle with me :D
Any constructive comments are always appreciated :D

I think you did a good job on combining different styles. Painting, vectoring - everything merges nicely. And there's almost no lineart at all. I admire that. It's a beautiful wall but in regard to the theme of the 2nd round, I'd probably choose something with two characters only. Or delete the ones which are not needed for the theme here because it's a bit chaotic for me like this. In any case, it's purple and full of sparkles and the moment I saw the thumbnail of this, I knew I was gonna love it. Immediate fav from me. <3

Why thank you for the comment and fav! :D Most appreciated! As for the characters....yeah I'm a bit of a chaotic person and wanted to confuse people by adding more depth and mystery....Just joking! Although It didn't occur to me before that having more than 2 people for the theme would seem chaotic, must think about these things haha.

Thank you once again for the comment and fav :3

while the colors are really pretty and the vectors/painting are done superbly, I think your wall lacks shadows overall and it made the characters feel out of place. when there's light, there's shadows, so it's important to put it in the wallpaper. also maybe it's better to spread the stone fragments so it'll feel more like "breaking" and fragment-ish.

overall you've done one hell of a good job, well done!

Oww, great scan extention. One thing that really takes my eye about the stones, now I could see the original is that a stone covers pretty much 3 hands while it's not supposed to...I think? I like how you changed the direction of the girl. Editing isn't that easy. It looks great. Your painting skills are pretty nice. I'm not sure about the overal lighting. Perhaps it's because the shadows are a bit off like Kurorisa mentioned.

Overall, this wall really blows...in a good way :3

This wall is fabulous. I love the vector, the painting and the overall colors. The details are also superb as well as the extension you've made. I'm not so sure but I agree that some of the shadows were somehow a bit off. But overall, the wall is very good.

    Great and good job!

A little side note, I'm hoping and praying that you would do some changes for this wall in the future. :)
