I like your version better, some how the gray makes it more colorfull

I was really conflicted about what scan I should wall after my recent SnK wallpaper, since just before I had 2 ideas that I took quite far but didn't finished. In the end through, after seeing Nadeko sketchy scan, I picked it up without planning much and was hoping I'll be able to see it through to the end :)
I didn't really worked much on composition here apart from making a crop that I felt looked best as wallpaper. Obviously I wanted to keep the sketchy style that got me attracted to the scan in first place, so instead I focuses on experimenting with abstract colors. It kinda came out like some of my older walls, using mostly grayscale and scarce popping out colors.

Ooh, this is definitely something different from the transformations wallers usually apply to scans!
The text looks a bit out of place for me, though. I get that it prevents the left side from looking too empty but IDK, something about it seems off to me.
I do love the small details like the sketchy shadows and the dots on the snake's skin. The halftone in the background looks much better than a texture would and the red, yellow and gray look great together. -

I can see how this got elited so well ! I really love the details to the snake, those little creatures aren't easy to do, but this looks so life like ! I really like the way that you have the girl cuddling with the snake as well. the placement of the hands and body against is, well done ! also, the ideas for the color combination, in this sort of aspect, less is better. in my opinion too much color could have taken away from the detail.
